Are you guys forgetting about Michael Beasley??? He will be our 6th man, and he'll keep up the scoring for us!
I'd prefer to bring Gordon off of the bench and let him lead the second unit. Plus, like many here I sense some sort of trade for a PG forthcoming. Hopefully, it'll be somebody that can push Beverley to the bench.
The whole pg/sg/sf/pf/c arguement is obsolete. The league has moved toward positionless basketball for a while now. Dantoni preaches playing his best 5 regardless of position.
Just sign Stephenson and Fredette (or Marshon Brooks) who along with Beasley will be the scoring bench. Brewer and Capela can fly around the court cleaning up their mistakes.
Can I just say, while i understand and agree with some of the merits of positionless basketball, the notion that you don't need big men to protect the rim is ridiculous. It's not the best 5 guys, there's a lot more to it. Sure, put your 5 best guys out there under 6'8", and I'll put David Lee out there and we'll see how many easy 2 pt buckets I get in the post.
It doesn't matter who starts. It matters who finishes and plays the majority of the minutes, which Gordon will. Gordon is definitely a starter in this league but we have Harden so he may have to come off the bench but play starter minutes.
