Haven't seen much of his jumper but his transition game and ability to score in the paint are great. Excited to see if his slashing ability will translate well in MDA's system

IF Dekker can develop into a more consistent 3 point shooter and put on some muscle, the obvious comparison to me is Harrison Barnes.

    Harrison Barnes
    Height 6'8
    Weight 228 (at combine)
    Wingspan 6'11
    Standing reach 8'5.5
    Max vert reach 11'9

    Sam Dekker
    Height 6'9
    Weight 219 (at combine)
    Wingspan 6'11.5
    Standing reach 8'10
    Max vert reach 11'8.5

Hey we all want to see him do well right?

    ............right?

Unless his skin color is reflecting so much sun it's hurting your eyes or something. i know its hard to compare a honkey to a nnnnnon honkey but idk....try? His height and skin are parsons like but that's about it. I don't think parsons had smooth handles or athletic ability but he was tall, he could shoot and he would run. Dekker looks much bulkier, much smoother athletically and with the ball, hell his 3 even has a good arc on it. I'm gonna throw out a name and try to offend everyone all at once I guess. Grant hill.

Dekker showing something a little different tonight with the 6 assists in 22 min. He's got several dimensions to his game; really like the potential.

Barnes can defend positions 2 to 4. Dekker lacks the lateral agility to guard 2's and he's not strong enough to guard 4's right now. Other than his intangibles (work ethic, all out court hustle and willingness to throw his body around) Barnes is the better player.

LOL Dekker's looking pretty good, showing a pretty diverse skillset with passing, shooting and hustle plays. KJ's playing better but still needs a lot of work IMHO, either he spent all summer working out so his shot got bad, or he spent all summer getting fat and is now just coming into shape.

Considering Dekker is basically a rookie, I am taking a "Wait and see" approach with him.

He was the second offensive option behind Frank the Tank on a very good Wisconsin team. He knows how to play and where to be. That defense will just have to come with more experience.

LOL. If we get to the finals with him, I reserve the right to change my opinion. Win or lose.

We have him to put up stats when it does not really matter.

I don't see it... Barnes plays smaller and quicker.
