I like his game and I am surprised no team has given him a contract.

:) Actually, my post really was just a general response. It's been a quiet day overall. I really do worry about our height and "Big" defense with the big fella gone. The same characters are still in play, but I'm wondering if Morey is deciding to go towards more experience or bring in youth. We're at a point where MDA could use either. I'm partial to vets and winners, just like our newest Birds and my fambam, and with Whiteside staying in the 305, we'd likely have to get our Big of the future through a trade.

Then again, is what we have to offer that tantalizing? In some scenarios, yes. But, I don't think the league is actively pursuing Corey Brewer.

No matter what, I can't see DM going into the season without beefing up the front court, either with a major guy or a few parts to a whole.

Smallest chatter around tonight is Shaqtin a Fool's Resident #1. He's a free bird. Big...who bites first and at what price?

Random-Before-Bed-Thought....I still don't understand what Mo Speights did. The water in LAC must be delicious to not take any money for yourself during this crazy cap. I mean...even with that nasty knot on his head, Mo could have gotten at least 5 million a pop somewhere.

I haven't loooked too much into it, but it baffles me. If you're a free agent, leaving a team that just dumped everyone to have KD, don't you start new with as much dough as possible? Did I misread his signing?

I don't know, but Mo is this year's Billy Madision of free agency...and Mozgov is making 65 million, after not being able to find a minute of playing time on the court. Jo Noah (who was about to be in Red before I ruined his year) is making 70+million in NY...

Javale McGee huh? The guy could definitely fill the Tyson Chandler role and finish lobs from Harden, but his defense is suspect minus the occasional highlight reel weakside block...

Jimmer Fredette and Lance Stephenson off the bench would be fantastic. Would have to trade KJ and Bev for 2nd or rights to some foreign player however.

And if not Javale McGee, then Larry Sanders. Boogie or Neens would be perfect but Rockets' assets are not what they used to be so need to start looking under some rocks.

    Sign D-mo.

So with Harden taking up the remaining cap room, barring any trade, the Rockets are pretty much down to match/don't match DMo's offers and veteran's minimum contracts right?

Did the Rockets renounce Terry's cap hold? If so, to bring Terry back, he'll have to sign for a Vet's minimum right?

So basically, we're ****ed. Funny how Morey says contender and then we have 2 glaring holes in our roster that at least one could've been taken care of with cap space in a trade. D-Mo must be had now, since we cannot rely on any big outside of Anderson right now.

We could still possibly dump Brewer and KJ which could free up to 10 mill in space IF we renounce Dmo.

At this point though, witu Sullinger getting to interest, Ezeli getting 7 mill, its possible that we can re-sign Dmo for cheap (under 12 mill per).

I think no matter what, dumping Brewer and to a lesser extent KJ should be priorities along with finding a quality starting or backup PG.

There are trade options and Codman has been pretty consistent in his articulation that a trade is likely coming. That will make me feel a little better. Also interested to see if we can move a guy like KJ (would be a lot easier than Brew) to free up enough space to sign a guy like Vasquez. For additional space we could use the stretch provision on Brew I believe.

Sounds like we'll be getting front court help through trade. Sounds like they don't care about getting a point guard.

As for DMo, I say lock him up as long as the medical checks out. Most likely it will be a reasonable contract and it's a good fit for what Pringles wants to do. We should focus on developing DMo at the 4 and go after a big-time 5 via trade. I'd also like to upgrade Ariza and add a pg.

I'd take Jimmer over Dekker. At least he has an NBA level skill.

Good for him; this kid is from Houston as 'jogo' pointed out.
I hope he still gets playing time and doesn't get buried on the bench considering the Pelicans picked up E'Twaun Moore and Langston Galloway while retaining Jrue Holiday and Toney Douglas.

The Best I've Seen of Jimmer

This is the best I've seen of Fredette since college. I've always thought he could put things together and find a place in the league like J.J. Redick. They have similar skills and body type.

I remember reading somewhere that jimmer has coachability issues. He wants to run the offense like the way he did in college. I thought he had great potential too and we're just stuck on bad teams and coaches. However he was signed and waiver by the spurs which doesn't bode well.

Yeah, this is correct. Unless there is a trade. I would guess that the Rockets will match DMO and sign two players to vet min deals.
