I'd laugh too... but considering the ridiculous contracts scrub big men are getting I could see a team in need of a backup C without space being interested with for a protected second.
I'd actually be surprised if Speights re-signed with Golden State. He's 28 and is a productive NBA player. He would have to play for the veteran minimum in a year where a guy like Arthur is getting guaranteed $8 million a year. Speights hasn't had a big contract yet. Is he really going to take a paycut from $3 million, the most he's ever earned, to a minimum deal instead of looking for like $21-$30 million guaranteed? I'd be shocked, and he would be stupid to do so. Speights is a guy I'd really like to get on the team as a reserve.
Nene it is. That concludes the search. Probably the worst player of the 11 I thought were reasonable options...
hell yeah, moz gonna be a 15/10 guy next season. You just have to pick out the only freaking exception to the rule don't ya..
Meyers Lenoard still out there the perfect big for MDA system & still has UPSIDE 90%FT , 40%3pt 50%fg just a year ago. Reason he's still out there is because had off season last year and shoulder injury
oh there are others but spending $1mil for a serviceable C that is much needed with the continuing development of Capella, there is good value here with Nene
he was pretty bad last year even before the injuries. He didn't really take any steps towards improvement like portland thought he would have

He just got waived. If we picked him up, we could have not one, but two Shaqtin a Fool winners on our squad.
Saw Javale McGee play in the Drew League last weekend for his own team. Played the whole game and was like 1-9 on threes. It was delightful.
