Dude.... aria is one of the BIGGEST BARGAINS in the NBA now... can NOT let him go unless they give us something potent
We cannot go into the year with both Ariza and Beverley though, need at least one who can also create. Or else it's the same **** with Anderson instead of D-Mo while Capela fumbles passes.
I agree. For the life of me I don't understand why people are down on Ariza. He's the one guy that can actually defend on this team. He's a 3 and D guy....we need more players like him; trading him away with his 8m salary would be an idiotic move.
HE also shot 37% from 3 and is on a pretty cheap contract We'll save him until we can get a better asset in return
I don't believe in Broussard but lately it's my impression that he and Alex Kennedy have gotten more stuff right than usual.
I agree with you, Ariza is valuable and on a modest contract and plays D. DD likes to label players as sucking based off black and white views...He's got beer goggles on.
Brewer is an athletic wing, Cavs. Quick as hell too. You can have Brewer and you will like it. Brewer for Love.
Trading Ariza ove sounds quite bad for the cavs... However it gives them 21 milions in trade reception. Thats sounds like a pill they could take to add wade or 2 good players. And we get another all offence no defense guy to our gunman gang.
When you only have one guy playing defense, it doesn't really matter if he stays or goes. It's not like he can guard five guys at one time.
This is because DD's too old to care about the numbers, so he just looks at the player without considering his salary. That's why all his rants lack any sort of substance and are all vague generalizations like kicking cans or flipping pancakes or whatever. The funny thing is he hates the Rox always trading their young players but here he is now wanting to trade a core piece away, he has issues flipping scrubs away who didn't pan out but want to trade the actual productive players the Rockets have. Ariza at 7.4M is a bargain, look at contracts of other 3 and D players how much are they making? Wes Johnson 15M, Barnes 23M, Iggy 12M, Bazemore 20M even a nobody like Tyler Johnson made 10M. Ariza is not a superstar but he is clearly someone you want on a contending team, you always need all around glue guys who can defend the other team's best player and Ariza isn't bad, he can hit open 3s, drive and dunk the ball and he has good hands who can the ball from passers so he can do something with it. With his salary you can afford to pay another good guy on the team, instead of burning all your money on a slightly better upgrade. And he is a beast health-wise, Ariza played like 3 positions last year and probably had the 2nd most minutes apart from Harden. I wouldn't be opposed to trading Ariza but it better be for a really good player in return, certainly not a 1st and junk contract from the Cavs.
Trading for Ariza is fine, but dumping him without a replacement lined up makes no sense. Ariza as a fifth option would be just fine.
Why would we trade for Love when we just signed Anderson to 20M? You want to pay for a 20M backup? lol Only way this happens is if they take back Anderson, considering they're also paying the max for Tristan Thompson doubt this happens.
