This is an hilarious story from a guy I work with. Here goes!!! My co-workers parents went to stay at the San Luis Hotel in Galveston for the heck of it. That is where the Rockets are staying. Anyway his mother was in the gift shop and saw Patrick Ewing and his girlfriend (wife?) standing there with a young kid asking for his autograph. Ewiing was ignoring him. His mom was getting annoyed at Ewing ignoring the kid. Finally when the kid asked for another autograph. Ewing profoundly said "NO!" and the kid walked away. His mother is kinda quiet and petite and very classy. His mother was then standing next to him and said to him "Are you a basketball player.....or an *******!" Her friend said "NO, he's a midgit!" and they laughed at him. Ewing just ignored them as well. She then told the clerk to put his items on her tab. BTW Ewings girl starting laughing also!! Funny huh?? I need to find out what Ewing was buying!
Yeah, i don't get the "midget" comment either. I thought the interesting part was Ewing refusing to sign an autograph for a little kid, especially with his girl around. But what was the little kid doing in a hotel gift shop all by himself?
i'm glad i'm not the only one that doesn't get how it's funny. does anyone get the line about the midget?
Patrick showed his buttholedness, if this is an accurate story. Forward it on to the head coach, GM, owner, and news outlets. Houston's big men have big classiness -- til now.
Not only is that not funny, I really the don't buy the story. Just seems like another reason to rip Patrick Ewing because he was a rival of Houston years ago.
