If we are really going to take some chances, some risks to take big swings, this is the guy to do it with, what would it take for us to trade with the Sixers for this always injured big with probably the most upside of any player available.

Would the Sixers trade him, would the Rockets want him? Would you?

    I know I sure would.

That is the kind of risk I would like my Rockets to be taking, a HIGH upside one.

No way the sixers are trading him. He is the reason why Okafor and Noels are available.

Embiid has more potential than okafor and noel..like, he could be a combination of both...they're not going to trade him unless he doesnt recover from his injuries or is a bust.

    The forgotten man.

If his foot ever heals properly he could be a heckuva player.

If you can trade scraps for him, you do it (ie, Beverley etc)

Guy..do you realize we just added two injury prone FAs? We would set some kind of world record for injured players if we added him.

I'd love to get him, but I can't see the Sixers trading him. They've patiently waited two years to see what he can do, and now they're going to trade him right before he finally plays?

No way, and double now way with Hinkie gone.

Or at least, no way that includes any combination of assets we could throw at them that doesn't include Harden.

If there was even a hint of availability coming out of Philly for Embiid, I imagine teams would come running with better offers than we could put forth.

We have absolutely nothing to make it worthwhile for the 76ers to pickup our phone call.

76ers receptionist: Hi Bryan, it's Daryl Morey calling on line 1.

    Bryan Colangelo: Take a message.

Morey: Ok thanks, I'll try again later.

I want Covington. We need another wing that can shoot behind Ariza.

Why does everyone always try to swing for the fences with Hail Mary passes

Whatever happened to the days of fundamental, team basketball where you draw walks, lay down sacrifice bunts, set up the passing game with your fullback, while always looking for the hockey assist in classic 4-3-3 offenses.

bottomline: you got to know when to hold them and know when to apply the brakes if you expect to score at the big dance, rather than always going for the knockout punch.

If he could ever get healthy and he had a chance to work with Hakeem !Wow.

I'd love him. High reward is true my friend.

Call me crazy (or smart / using common sense) but there is no chance in hell I give up anything to take a guy who hasn't played one NBA game TWO YEARS after being drafted.

don't worry, the sixers won't trade him for anyone on our roster not named james harden either. nor should they.
