It really depends on how much he is asking for. His mid range game, handles (as long as he doesn't force it and try to do too much) and rebounding are solid for a big. You cant teach size which he's got plenty of. You have to remember potential is going to be a factor in his contract and if he plays up to it then he might be a steal. Who knows. Since Detroit doesn't have cap space this year to overpay like they do, my guess is he will get 10-11 million for 4 years, maybe 5 with a team option and some money guaranteed. Not sure if he is worth that. I would risk 9 average, but so would other of teams.
In general, I think we should stick to our strategy of getting great value out of young, cheap players and swinging for the fences during free agency (or via trades) for stars that will fill our holes (no homo), like we've done with harden/howard and tried with others. This is better than settling for middle of the ground players like monroe that would lock up more money and may not give us great returns. The Rockets have tried this with middle of the run/talented players like Ariza...it just doesnt seem to pan out as often. Same reason I'm glad we didn't go after Josh Smith. If we strike out on the big guys, it's probably better to leave our PF situation as is and maintain more flexibility rather than commit money to players like monroe. Obviously, that depends on what contract he's willing to sign....upgrades are always welcome if they keep us flexible! (and we lucky to have a good GM who won't have us end up like the knicks.)
In about a 10-15 min stretch he can play with Dwight and the rest of the game back up Dwight Or just go after josh smith

I would be tempted to add this skilled and consistent big man. 15 and 10 every night, no matter what. Good passer... Maybe Harden can bring out more in him, and his contract isn't bad at all with the rising cap.
