Marshall / McConnell Thompson / Stauskus Covington / (Simmons) / Grant Simmons / Saric / Landry / Holmes Noel / Embiid Definitely need all the back court help they could get, they are stacked in the front court. Dekker/Harrell/Ariza/Onuaku would be of little use, they need guards bad. Would need to be a 3 team deal most likely.
76ers would be mad to keep Okafur over Noel with Ben Simmons on board. Simmons will be their 4, needs a rim protector at the 5, not a black hole on offence with no defence (ie, Okafur). I'm not high on Okafur, but he wouldn't be the worst backup C I suppose? I don't see how we put together an attractive enough package to get him though.
I was thinking we go after Noel and not Liable just due to the make up of this team. Don't we need someone who is willing to defend, protect the rim, run the floor, set picks and roll... sounds more like Noel than Okafor who is notorious for his defense.
Was discussing Noel or okafor with a buddy. Either would be fantastic but I want the one who is more of a gamer and the more aggressive one and I think it's Noel. But if we can okafor we really see some beautiful low post game.
I reckon Nic Vucevic could be had.. we already have given up on defense for the season, so why not try get him
I actually wouldn't mind Gordon at point, just really need someone to handle the ball a little and shoot. Though, I am worried about his defense or actually I am worried about everyone's defense in the starting lineup. Gordon/backup pg Harden/backup sg Ariza/KJ Anderson/Beas Okafor/Capela Then who would play SF? beas?kj?
If the 76ers trade Okafor or Noel for Beverley, they are completely nuts. I hope I'm wrong, but it's going to take more than what we have to offer.
The fact that Okafor can play isn't exactly a secret. -20-years-old -Scouts were saying he has some of the most advanced post skills, footwork and instincts that they've seen from a big man prospect in years -Very successful rookie campaign (despite the warts) -All of that production on a $4-6M per year contract I mean, Philly is in position to command a total haul for him. What sort of competitive offer can we put together?
It has been mentioned that Rubio, Terrence Ross (plus filler), and Malachi Richardson [Kings' draft pick] were possible targets/offers. The trade scenarios with TWolves/Raptors were for Nerlens Noel, not Okafor. From The Philadelphia Inquirer (philly.com): Smallwood: Trading Noel for Minnesota's Ricky Rubio works Raptors reportedly want Nerlens Noel After Malachi Richardson's 'phenomenal' workout, is he on Sixers' radar?
I'd think they'd want more than Beverley for sure. My post from the 1st page was something a 76's writter mentioned and I'm sure he would've suggested more than Bev also. But if it were for just Bev, HELL YEAH! That'd be a great steal.
What if they want bev and capela for okafor and Kendall Marshall. We gotta give something to get the 3rd overall pick from last year's draft.
I agree. I don't think we have enough to woo them even if we throw in picks. However, since it seems Rubio is on the block, maybe something like this could get done: 3-way deal with MIN, PHI, and us We get: -Okafor -Rubio PHI gets: -Bev -Zach LaVine MIN gets: -Ariza -Jerami Grant -KJ -Rights to Furkan Korkmaz This way MIN gets to keep Wiggins at shooting guard and improve their defense. They need shooters and Grant and KJ aren't that, but they're young and Ariza can help immediately. All of these guys seem like Tibbs type of guys--rangy defenders who work hard. Dunn is their future anyway but I guess this would come down to how much they like Tyus Jones as a backup. Philly gets their backcourt set and some scoring punch (LaVine) for a team that will look pretty bland offensively without Okafor. Looks like a no-brainer for them. LaVine could thrive without so many mouths to feed. We get the steal of the deal with Okafor and hope he turns into the next go-to post threat. I know some around here aren't real jazzed about Rubio, but I think he would be great in MDA's offense and is still young. With Harden, RA, and Gordon we have some pretty solid shooters for him to make his sweet passes to anyway. His defense is a plus as well. We'd probably have to throw MIN a future 1st also to get this done... which I'd be okay with. (Another note, if MIN MUST have Pekovic gone, we could take him in and toss Dekker to PHI and send Brew back to MIN... in that situation, we also take back TJ McConnell from Philly. Couldn't we amnesty Pek if we wanted to anyway with the new amnesty?) It all works out in the trade machine too! TL;DR: Our garbage (and maybe a pick) for Rubio and Okafor!
