I really can't wait to watch it. I loved the ultimate cut of Watchmen. Sometimes these cuts end up really saving a film. Kingdom of Heaven theatrical cut was garbage, but the directors cut is one of my favorite movies ever.
Ultimate cut is a far superior movie. I've no idea why WB even released the version they did. Lois investigating lex. Clark investigating the batman. Lex's whole plan. It just makes the movie so much better.
Because it's 3 hours long and rated R. Most people don't want to sit through a 2 1/2 hour movie, let alone 3. Plus the original theatrical cut felt way too long to begin with.
found a link with a summary of edits, additions, modified scenes http://screenrant.com/batman-v-superman-ultimate-edition-changes-differences/?view=all looking forward to it
Just finished the ultimate cut. I really liked it to be honest. The pacing was much better, it didn't feel exhausting either. It went by like a breeze for me. Much, much more enjoyable experience. This is the cut that should have originally been released, just like Watchmen's directors cut. I don't understand why people are so afraid of long films. We can spend hours on video games and reading books or watching p*rn, but we just can't have that extra hour of run time on movies. Some of the greatest films ever are 3 to 4 hour run times.
I've heard nothing but good things about the ultimate cut, looking forward to picking up the bluray in a few weeks.
As a guy who hated what i saw at the theater..the ultimate version is so much better..fills a lot of plot holes.. Release version-5/10 Ultimate version- 8.5/10
Good to hear. Did you buy it off iTunes? If not I've been looking for a site that has the ultimate version.
Saw the original and thought it was good yet choppy. Watched the ultimate version and definitely liked it more but it doesn't solve some of the major issues (Martha) other viewers had with the original. Still, I think even the biggest haters will find this version adds at least half a star.
I just finished the Ultimate Edition IMO it makes the movie night and day better. It doesn't fix everything, but nearly everything. If they released this version in theaters they'd have gotten a LOT less hate.
I don't know which version I watched this weekend, but Martha was the biggest problem. First, I didn't buy into Batman wanting to destroy Superman before he did anything wrong. Mostly was troubled by the fact that Batman had only seen Superman in a bad light, but did not notice all the good he had been doing too.Yes, some people died, some people got hurt but that was a stretch for me personally. Second, for all of that to turn on saving Martha. Say what? Seriously. Then There was the weird dream with what I think was some time traveler and some flying birds. huh? Luther was little over the top, like Riddler before, but I could live with it, was mostly troubled by the timeline of Luther's development compared to the original films, as in he had not confronted superman yet. Felt awkward. Then there was the bat stealing the kryptonite and somehow failed on the first attempt, and that did not seem to make sense to me, as in they just let it go. And really, they just gave Luther the dead evil guy? Did not really enjoy the mega creature at the end either. I did like the 3D, the spear, the brooding nature of the movie. And overall I liked almost all of the scenes on individual merit. So I'd have to say the plot did not have enough to allow me to believe it. I will watch again because it is watchable. And I hope I can somehow bind it all together. The movie had some potential. Felt like I was asking myself questions all movie long and trying to convince myself to buy into it.
I've only watched the Ultimate Edition and thought it was pretty good. Slow start and then the ending wraps up too quickly. 7.5/10
