Steve Francis' continuing troubles with his right ankle caught him again, forcing him to leave Friday night's game against Orlando and putting his availability for Monday's game with Portland in jeopardy.

Francis sprained his ankle during the Rockets' 105-95 win when his right foot came down on the right foot of Magic guard Darrell Armstrong. Francis returned five minutes after the injury, but he was troubled by the ankle throughout the rest of the game and did not know when he would be at full strength.

Francis missed two games and left several others this season because of problems with the ankle.

"Honestly, it's really hurting," he said. "I'm going to get some treatment (today) and Sunday, and we will see how it feels on Monday."

Francis finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, scoring seven consecutive points in the Rockets' stretch run.

"I'll get treatment and pull it through the season," he said. "This is something I have to deal with as a professional. You have to play through injuries."

He needs to drop reebok. Those shoes they make for him give no support. That's why he keeps on respraining it.

If he drops Reebok then I want a refund. The only reason I bought the Wink DMX's was because of Steve. My feet kill me sometimes after balling. Nice looking shoe that is crappy.

Gotta wonder what kind of number he would be putting up if he were healthy. Triple doubles, maybe?

This is terrible news. I would like to have Francis sit out, but we are making our push to the playoffs and we need him the most during this stretch. Francis just can't keep on playing forever on a bad ankle, or it will REALLY become a chronic problem. But Keith Jones is a great trainer, and I trust that he will know when to rest Francis and when to play him. The only thing that I'm worried about is Francis being overly eager to play, and hurting himself again.

If it is the Reebok shoes, he had better hurry up and pull a Vince Carter on them, and go sign with Nike or somethin.

Ankles are not made to take like 50 40" jumps a night.

Steve needs to learn to pick his spots and let that ankle heal a bit.

Keep playing though...there is a difference between pain and injury.

Make him play the Blazer game, and let him sit out the Chicago game. I'm sure the Rockets could beat the Bulls without Steve. Hell, they could beat them playing 4 on 5 basketball with each player having one hand tied behind their back.

It is most definately the shoes....here's a review from kicksology.com:

    Buying Advice:
I can't think of anyone that I could recommend the WINK DMX to, except perhaps masochists who like blisters and shin splints. Our advice is quite simply to steer clear of this extremely disappointing shoe.

Reebok signed Francis because they knew he had the same type game as Iverson and he would be easy to promote.

"To sum up, the WINK DMX is one of the worst shoes that we've had the displeasure to review. While we hold to the view that no shoe alone will elevate your game, the WINK DMX is an example of a shoe that can actually hamper your play. It's not very fun to play when your feet are blistered and your shins are throbbing. Even if all you do is shoot jumpers from the perimeter the poor cushioning is a big negative, but if you do a lot of driving to the basket the combination of an uncomfortable upper and inadequate cushioning can do more to shut you down than your defender. " - From Review Article

Get rid of the shoes Stevie!

Does anybody know where I might be able to purchase some on the Grey or Blue versions of the WINK DMX. Are they available to the public yet?? I dont live in the Houston Area, but plan to visit this weekend.
I here it is not a great B-Ball shoe but I just want it for Fashion reasons, they only offer the Black version here in Dallas.
