Do you believe everything you read? That's an attempt to raise better trade offers.

A PG that can't shoot at all. I'm puzzled as to why some of you want him.

Yes. And you're free not to believe it too. You just deflected without answering again. I'm still waiting for you to tell me if you would trade Maker for Capela. Are you ever going to answer that one?

I am deflecting? Is this the Rubio thread or not? Didn't you just say I shouldn't believe what you say? So who is deflecting and trying to change the discussion?:grin:

I dont' know before I watch him once in a game against players his own age.
What that has to do with Rubio again?

This is our best hope now . I don't know if min wants to trade him . I definitely don't know if they want to trade him for what we have . A combination or Ariza / Beasley/Brewer/ bev / KJ/ Dekker/Harrell / future picks/ gp2 is what we can offer . Hopefully if that isn't enticing we can involve another team .

Someone posted a potential lineup that I thought was OK

Rubio/ bev or GP or Gordon
    Harden/ Gordon ( or KJ)
    Beas/ Ariza / Dekker / harkless
    Dmo/ Anderson
    Capela/ chinanu

Really isn't bad at all , the crux is getting Rubio

With today's moves, I can see Rubio here now. We now have the kind of shooting you must have to allow Rubio to be effective.

Brewer + Beverley + Rights to Gentile for Rubio.

Minnesota gets the kind of veteran leadership they've been looking for, Brewer and Bev bring defensive intensity to a Thibs coached team, and Gentile gives them another wing with potential.

    Rubio / Gordon
    Harden / Gordon
    Ariza /
    Anderson / DMo
    Capela / DMo

We also have the kind of shooting that would make Rondo effective.

I'd be really tempted to grab either player.

Whether or not we (Rockets) should consider getting Rubio largely depends on one simple condition; the willingness of Harden to play off the ball for significant stretches, otherwise we just have Rubio being ignored at the perimeter. That's unless we stagger Rubio's minutes, because Rubio is largely a negative if Harden is still our primary ball handler next to him.

That's exactly what I would intend to do. When Harden sits, you put Rubio out there with Gordon and Anderson or DMo. That should keep the offense humming.

To be clear, I would NOT play Harden and Rubio together for significant stretches....id be afraid that would end the same way Lawson + Harden did. Maybe give them 8 minutes a game on the floor together.

Who would you rather have next to Harden then?

So basically Rubio is going to play backup minutes. We're going to give up assets and possibly take on a bad contract for a backup. I trust Morey so if he thinks Rubio is going to work, I'll back that decision 100%. I personally would rather have a shooter with legit PG skills. I know... who right?

Kinda, although I don't think it would take some huge package to get him.

Rubio should keep the offense going when Harden sits. It's critical that we reduce Harden's minutes in the regular season down to something more normal. He led the NBA by a large margin in minutes played. That is going to take a toll on his body, career, and yes....his defense. Adding Rubio will give us a better Harden even if all he does is allow Harden to sit another 2 minutes per game (which is worth about 5 games in rest per year).

Eric Bledsoe could be available, and for some reason everyone wants Ricky Rubio. Sometimes I don't get this forum
