Give away Brewer and Beverley for free (ie, to Philly, adding veterans to play with their youngsters? Give them a pick?) and then we still have a max contract to offer (assuming we would renounce DMo if needs be). That would give us over $28.5million Durant is starting at $28.2mill? Believe. [ok, so it's not happening, but a supporting cast of EGo, Anderson, Ariza, Capela to go with Harden and Durant would be lovely - and so while there is still a way to crunch the numbers its worth dreaming] Bring in a mini MLE backup C
I think the problem with MDA's 7 seconds or less offense is that there isn't much in the way of offensive rebounds. Shots go up whether anyone is in position to get an offensive board or not.
Trade Brewer, Beverley, Gentile and Llull for Rubio Sign Jason Smith Rubio / Gordon Harden / Gordon Ariza / McDaniels Anderson / DMo Capela / Smith
If we can dump Brewer and KJ, renounce Dmo, waive Goudlock we would have 25 million. I would do that, split the 25 on a PG and C
i'm not a GM so i don't know what the market is like, but beverley is getting paid 5.5M per year for the next 3 years to play some D and shoot 40% on 3's. in this market, where solomon hill just got $13M/yr, it's like he's playing for free. hell, he's almost paying you to play. a productive role player on a super-cheap contract who is also locked up for 3 years? you're going to have to make me give that one up. and brewer's $8M should look entirely reasonable to a team just looking to hit the floor. if you're just paying somebody because you have to you can probably do worse than brewer for $8M. you'd probably have to pay a real player $12-14M.
I initially included him in my proposed trade. Not sure. He kinda seems like a guy with tools that has never put them together.
why is clutchfans so enamored with ricky rubio? he's such a bad shooter. I'd be setting my eyes on eric bledsoe or brandon knight (preferably bledsoe)
i don't know why people have always been so enamored with rubio, but his numbers last year might actually justify it for once. he got his true shooting percentage all the way up to 53. that's not great, but given everything else he does, if he keeps that up then he's actually worth the hype. solid PER, solid win shares, very good real plus-minus. but if his TS% is just a one year fluke then i think he goes back to wrecking your offense.
