    That was awesome.

I thought Franchione was supposed to be a good coach.

Took him out w/ 11 minutes, and fell short of the NCAA 3-game record by 47 yards. Too bad (actually, stupip) ...each record would help him in the Heisman race.

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- B.J. Symons threw a Big 12-record eight touchdown passes and topped 500 yards passing for the third straight game as Texas Tech beat Texas A&M 59-28 Saturday night.

Symons, who was 34-of-46 for 505 yards, broke the conference mark of seven TDs set by A&M's Dustin Long last year in Tech's 48-47 overtime win in College Station.

    Symons, who left the game with 11:48 remaining, had TD passes of 17, 19, 48, 13, 14, 15, 8 and 16 yards.

It's the third straight week Symons has broken a Big 12 record. Last week he passed for 661 yards and six TDs in a 49-45 victory at Mississippi, breaking the mark of 586 yards he set the week before in a 49-21 loss at North Carolina State.

Wes Welker led the Red Raiders (4-1, 1-0 Big 12) in receiving with 114 yards on six catches, and scored twice. He finished the game with 194 career receptions to break the school record of 189 set by Lloyd Hill.

Carlos Francis (110 yards) and Mickey Peters (75 yards) and Glover (97 yards) also each caught six passes, with Glover teaming with Symons for three TDs.

Tech jumped to a 17-0 lead and never trailed in the game in which A&M (2-3, 0-1) allowed the most points in school history. The previous high was 57 points by Texas in 1977.

It was the third straight loss for the Aggies, who didn't score until Courtney Lewis' 3-yard TD run early in the second quarter.

Tech has won five straight games in Lubbock and seven of the last nine.

The margin of victory was the second-largest by Tech in the 62-game series. The highest was in 1954 when the Red Raiders went to College Station and beat Bear Bryant's 1954 team 41-9.

Symons fell short of the NCAA three-game record for passing yards. Houston's David Klingler threw for 1,798 yards in three consecutive games spanning the 1990-91 seasons. Symons fell short by 47 yards.

It's funny how some people think coaches should be able to use will power to make less-talented and less experienced teams beat better opponents. I think you're selling Texas Tech a little short.

Yes, Franchione has one of the best resumes in all of college football. He's not "supposed" to be a good coach. It's a well-accepted fact. The Aggies are young and inexperienced. Their talent on the defensive side of the ball is the weakest I've ever seen it in my life. This season is the results of years of R.C. Slocum. Franchione's job is to turn a falling program around, which is never an easy thing. And yes, it's going to take a lot longer than a few games. I don't care if it takes two or three years, I'm just glad a change was made so they at least have the opportunity to break out of the dead-end path they've been headed down the past five years.

Congrats to Texas Tech fans, that offense is pretty fun to watch (unless it's your team being punished by it). :)

    HOLY SMOKES!!

Talk about an Aggie ass whoooooooooopin! I can safely say that we OWN the Aggies now.

Tougher task in trying to beat UT in November at a place we usually get rolled - DKR Memorial.

    :)

What a game to see, this offense is just plain nasty. Hicks made one heck of catch in the endzone than that taunting he did was classic. They showed it on the big screen a few times the whole stadium was cracking up. And the defene made a respectable showing which is pretty much all theyre asked to do. Hopefully my boy meeks will be back next weeks hes a hard hitting little guy. 4-1 finished pretty high in the top 25 voting. They could win the next 5 if they continue to run this offense to perfection. I think BJ is getting some heisman run now if this team goes 9-3 which it is very possible when looking at the schedule. Than he just might win the 04 heisman with nobody else sticking out this year.

Are you talking about next season's Heisman? He's a senior now.

    # The 59 points allowed by Texas A&M was the most in school history. The previous high for an A&M opponent was 57 by Texas in 1977. The previous high by Texas Tech against the Aggies was 41 points in a 41-9 in 1954, which was Paul "Bear" Bryant's first season at A&M.

    # The 59 points were also the most allowed by a Dennis Franchione-coached team. The previous opponent high was 52 points by Southern Methodist in a 52-31 SMU victory over New Mexico in 1996.
    # The 31-point margin of victory by Texas Tech was the most by an A&M opponent since a 37-0 shutout at Nebraska in 1999.

    # The 669 yards gained by Texas Tech was an A&M opponent record, breaking the old record of 603 yards set by Texas in 1970.

    # The 605 passing yards by Texas Tech were an A&M opponent record, breaking the old record of 536 yards set by Brigham Young in 1996.

    # The eight passing touchdowns by Tech's B.J. Symons were an A&M opponent record, breaking the previous record of six TDs by BYU's Steve Sarkisian in 1996.

    # The three receiving touchdowns by Tech's Nehemiah Glover matched an A&M opponent record that was originally set in 1963 by Baylor's Lawrence Elkins and matched again by Pittsburgh's Larry Fitzgerald earlier this season.

Man what an offense!! Tech just has incredible weapons and a great system. If they could put together a better D they could compete more on a national level. The Aggies have hit rock bottom. They will be lucky to go 5-7 this year. Only "guaranteed" wins left for them are Kansas and Baylor. I think they'll lose the rest.
