It'll start next year. It began late last season when he was tiring out and people complained that he wasn't rebounding as much as he should. It's starting now with the 'Should he play for China' crap threads that are springing up. It took a lot of Houston Fans years to really appreciate the Dream, and I'm not sure they ever really liked Sampson too much. But I think right now, people are just grumpy. All, or at least most, will be forgiven once we make the playoffs.
Lack of rebouding. MoT is a Non-POWER Foward. I mean the guy is 250lbs and 6'9". But he's afraid to mix it up inside? What the heck?
Not that being in the to 25% of our squad necessarily lands him in the top 50% of the league. I don't know how hard he works, but he is way over paid. I'm not his biggest fan but he certainly doesn't meet the needs of this team. Perhaps when he came on we had no way of knowing that (it's not like we forsaw getting yao) but we need a banger down low. We need more than the physical presence yao gives us we need a physical player. The fact that he single handedly kept us in many games and got us back in others just means he can score. Noone ever questioned that. In fact he does get praise for that. But a good 6th man does that too. To say that he's not way over paid is just ludicrous. Mike
We do like Mo Taylor here! _________________________ We just feel cheated when it comes to the style of play he has...When you're gettin' paid 46 million dollar you would expect some versitilty from your bruiser, but all we get a little 15 point outburst every 4 games... And that crap aint fair!!
His contract and the fact that he's a one dimensional player. He's very skilled offensively but lacking on the defensive side of the ball.
The guy might be overpaid, but that's the NBA for you. Few players out there have contracts that precisely match their worth. Mo's contract is too big, but there's no sense blaming him for it at this point. Blame whoever put it in front of him. As for his skills, I'm sure his rebounding and D will improve under the Van Gundinator because he'll be FORCED to improve them. There aren't too many problems with his scoring, as far as I'm concerned. We all know there were lots of games last year where the team would look absolutely dead, nobody could hit a thing. Mo would be subbed in and knock down 6 points just like that. It's that kind of thing that not only keeps the team in the game on the scoreboard, but lifts their spirits, too. He was an important part of the team last year, and I'm sure that will only increase this time around. Plus he's down with the ganja. Reprezizzle.
I'm glad he lost weight. When you have an injury and your fat, it just compounds (so to speak) the problem.
if mo was really lazy and didnt care about winning, you wouldn't have seen him busting his butt to get back in shape. then pretty much comming up from being the sorriest player on the team to one of the best, in less than one season after he broke his leg.
What else does an NBA player have to do other than stay in shape. We dont know Mo of having any other business enterprises, so his rooody toody better had gotten in shape man.
well eddie griffen was there the whole year last year without a broke leg, but you could have swore he was the one that had broke his leg in the off season and was tring to get back into shape.
As and offisive threat MO Taylor is good I will give him that but as a rebounder and defender, he is lazy, slow, and will not do it. There is no reason why your starting PG should average more rebounds than you starting PF or C. And to say he was not asked to is stupid on anyones part because that is a part of the game. as Much as I love steve and Yao they pissed me off when the D went to sleep. You job as a 4 is to bang and Mo Taylor has to buch of a wide A$$ not to be moving people around in the paint. these words brought to you buy the President of the Mo Taylor Hata Club
Well I take all my comments back about liking him! ________________________________________ The silly sucker bumped arms with some joke named Peter Cornell who wont even be our ball boy @ practice today Sunday October 5th. He has dislocated his shoulder and will be out for several weeks according to ESPN and if he needs sergery he will be out indefinitely. Thank you alot for all the good memories Maurice, you are trule the greatest theif of all time. And I thought Kelvin Cato and Mooche Norris were thugging us.
I just read on Espn that he will only be out 3-4 weeks and is expected to be ready for the opener. I was at that game in DC too. Mo was unstoppable. If it wasnt for about 3 b.s. calls for Jordan and steve's reluctance to pull the three at the end. I think Mo is gonna break out this year. I could see it in his play last year. So I guess time will tell
You're about a week late to back DaDakota up on that, since we now know he came into camp this year in the best shape of his career. We also know that the zone rules help Mo with defense and we can assume JVG will help him more. As for rebounding, of course that's a valid criticism. I've said before his approach to rebounding last year gave me hope. The jury's out on how he'll do this year with regard to that, but I'm predicting improvement. Everything we've heard or read about Mo going into this year should give everyone hope. He obviously wants very badly to improve. I think he has for some time and has just been hampered by injuries, but I don't see how anyone can look at his weight loss coming into this season and say he doesn't care.
