Throwing a lot of balls. Not adjusting to ump's tight K zone. Hitters making good contact, most outs have been fly outs.
No one ever looks as bad as what they are made out on here Keuchel isn't getting the borderline strike calls he got the last couple of years, so maybe it looks like his "command" isn't the same, but if those pitches were being called strikes it would look eerily similar. If Reed makes a good toss, it would be 1 run he has given up. He hasn't looked masterful by any means, but it's not like they are ripping line drives all over the field on him either (the HR by Bandy was ripped)
Of course, his advanced numbers still show him as a much better pitcher than the ERA, plus there is the hope he recaptures his previous form. I wish he wasn't on pace to throw 200 innings again. I wish they would give him some rest to see if he can get better. I'm guessing Altuve didn't hustle out of the box, because that was closer at 3B than you would expect.
another player lazy out of the box. Glad he didn't get thrown out--was fairly close. Interesting to see Springer/Calhoun have similar issues
What do you want him to adjust to the tight zone? Then we complain about him getting hammered. The HR pisses me off because it was a 2-1 count that should have been 1-2, which changes the approach.
Really? Ignore what you think Hinch would do. You would really take DK out of the rotation and start Feldman the next turn in the rotation? And what put him in the bullpen. If you were a manager every single player on the team would hate playing for you.
There's a guy in the College World Series for Coastal Carolina - Andrew Beckwith (sp?) - who drops his arm angle here and there and throws 84mph slop (and is like 14-1 on the year) just exactly like Weaver. He didn't get drafted in 30+ rounds.
He actually had a better first 4 years than I remember... Guess it all got forgotten due to his recent struggles.
Between stealing 2nd and 3rd to set up an RBI situation for Correa, and stealing 2nd today to set up a 2 out RBI situation, as well as a triple, I feel like Altuve is actually manufacturing more runs with his leg than usual. Of course, that attempt to take 2nd last night was awful. Maybe it's just us executing better behind him, but Altuve's baserunning seems to be leading to runs recently.
