What do you think of Grizzly's Wang Zhelin then? Wang is more of a bruiser and Zhou is the lankier one here.
Doubt he will ever play in NBA. Too slow. Offense skills stopped developing already... Huge disappointment...
i hope you're right it's not complaining, it's called rockets history. we draft nick johnson at 42 and chase budinger at 44
Huge disappointment before he sets foot on an NBA court at least park him in the Dleague and see what happens
I thought Yao had short arms for his size. That turned out more than alrite. Not saying much but yup both will struggle at times. Interesting draft day for sure.
Did not watch him enough but he had some good run there... maybe years ago? Did not even know he was up for the draft this year.
hopefully, this kid can develop into a consistent role player like Livingston does for GS, a good spot up mid range shooter as i have heard, no Yao potential at all
Trade Harden to LA for next season first pick and D'Angelo Russell. Sign Lin...All hell is released...Tinsatan!!
Zhou Qi can be a draft rights player to the D-League. He won't count against the roster but will get time playing with our D-league team.
With the height, coordination, wing span and shooting he has a chance. Led cba in blocked shots. I think people are underestimating him. Not a bad pick. Especially good if rumors of his age are not true since that dropped his stock some.
I found Zhou's wingspan interesting compared to Yao's so I made this quick graphic: Yao is 7'-6" with shoes but only had a 7'-5" wingspan Zhou is 7'-2" with shoes but has a 7'-7.75" wingspan "(At the NBA Combine,) Zhou Qi’s standing reach was recorded at 9′ 4.5″, which still measures as the highest in Draft Express’ database. At the Hoop Summit in 2015, he had a recorded standing reach of 9′ 6.5." (reference: https://valleyofthesuns.com/2016/05/23/zhou-qi-ridiculous-vertical/) His standing reach / wingspan is like Rudy Gobert.
Capela says Zhou Qi is going to look like he's playing in the middle of a tsunami with mighty strong winds trying to hold his position in the paint. Luckily the league has evolved and he doesn't have to play in the paint much.
I get the Les money angle but if Les really wanted him that badly for money reasons I don't think he passes on him at pick 37.
