Interesting - 2005 wasn't star studded, but there were a decent amount of legit rotation guys in that draft. If Morey is right, you could possibly grab a decent role player on a rookie scale contract later in the draft.

It's not top heavy, just deep. Why pay 1st round money to the same talent in the 2nd round? Trading up might allow the Rockets to get under the luxury tax before the new NBA year starts.

That's not how the tax works. It is calculated based on the salaries on the roster the last day of the regular season.

How do the Rockets pull that off?

Parsons, Capela, Harrell, Brooks, Landry, Budinger, D-Mo, Llull, Gentile.

Name 5 GMs that has had this level of success in the late 1st/early 2nd round.

Morey is top 5 at drafting rotation level players.

I'm sorry... I missed Llull and Gentile's solid rotational play in the NBA... lol
If drafting a foreign player that never suits up for your team, but has a good career overseas is something to be proud of... uh... kudos... i guess... lol

and I'm a big fan of Harrell and hope he continues to improve... but I don't think he could be termed a 'rotation level player' at this juncture...

Yeah, we cannot say they are good nba players but they are still good players since they are elite in Europe. Add Chuck Hayes to the list though, undrafted ;)

When Morey is bragging, Jeff Teague is going to Pacers already. LOL

Yikes, there seems to be a lot of teams wanting to opt out of the draft. Not that the Rockets should necessarily do it, but if Jimmy Butler is enough to get pick 3 from Boston, Morey may be able to get the 2 or even 1 for Harden.

Morey just likes to select someone no team will select to prove he is a genius.

Too late. Dude needs major medication. You'd think Morey raped half his family and burned the other half alive.
