America Debates it’s Role in the World Welcome to The People Speak: America Debates Its Role in the World, a public education effort to stimulate a national dialogue about the future of U.S. foreign policy. Our goal is to engage as many Americans as possible in debates across the United States during October, 2003 -- primarily between the 5th and the 18th. These debates come at a critical time in our history as the outlines of a new U.S. approach to promoting national and global security are emerging on the ground – in Iraq – and in the statements of senior government officials.
