Got a new tempurpedic and it is significantly firmer than when tried in store at gallery. They suggested it takes three weeks to break in. Wondering if this seems legit?

Are you sure it's the model you paid for? They have several models.

That was actually my first thought. I left house but where can I find model information on mattress in house?

Yeah the ones they have on the floor are already broken in. I was told by the salesman that it could take 6 weeks to break in. We've had it for over 30 days now and it feels fine.

I can't recall the specific model we got, but it's the one above the cheapest one.

I'm embarrassed to say I don't really know, but I've only had mine a week.

Did it get seriously softer? I mean i only spent like ten minutes on it before I left but it was pretty firm. We got one that was supposed to be one both passed medium to the right into the soft scale.

Just checked and the tag is at the head of the bed. It gives the model on there.

No, not that much softer. Only slightly, but I noticed it. Just asked my wife her opinion and she says it feels the same as when we got it. She weighs less obviously so maybe her side will take longer?

Anyway I don't think you should expect it to get significantly softer.

One of the things we were told was to walk and jump on it to break it in. (this is a serious post)

I was told that but I'm wondering if it is true. Anyway my wife got the serial number so where do I check that to see what model it is?

It's legit. Our tempurpedic took a while to break in, and now it feels like it did in the store. On a side note, easily one of the best purchases i've made.

I've been holding off on a new mattress for a while... How much did you guys pay for yours and where did you get them? First time shopping for a mattress.... Have no clue where to even start....

I got the Costco generic version a few years back. It is awesome and it cost about 600 bucks.

The ones on Amazon are also great.

I'm sure there are other ways...

Yes, you have to break them in.

I've heard mixed reviews on the highly rated Amazon ones. Plus returning them is very difficult if not impossible, so better hope you like it. I felt like I had to test it out personally before buying it.

I tried getting a cheaper mattress 4 years ago. Jacked up my back, decided to not go cheap on them ever again.

Luckily, I'll get my king size tempurpedic for free!

The literal first thing I'm going to buy for my new home is a king size tempurpedic.

I went King Size tempurpedic as well, but unfortunately as part of that promo with Mack you can't return or exchange and stay in the gamble.

I'm hoping it loosens up a little. It wasn't bad for me at all, but my wife felt like she was sleeping on a table.

The name of the model should be on the top in the bottom corner... or written on the side of the bed on the front. Foam beds take time to break in. Try stepping on each part of it everyday for a week or so to break up the initial firmness that is in all of the firm beds. Also open your window to air out the initial new product smell.
