That's very true, and that overlap is why the Warriors are such a great team. Teams can't adequately defend both Curry and Thompson as they come off screens. One of them will usually get open, and since both of them are accurate catch & shoot players, it doesn't matter who takes the shot.

Thompson is so underrated around here. He and Steph are their top 2 so I'd go with them. Someone mentioned that Thompson's skill set is easily replaceable and I heartily disagree. He's the second best shooter in the league and can score so easily. Not many players in the league that can fill the bucket as quickly as he and Steph can.

Green is a very solid player, mind you. But the ability to score is what sets apart the good from the great. I agree that green is the "heart and soul", but the lethal offensive threats of curry and Thompson are more important.

    Curry and Thompson

They literally broke how the game of basketball is played with those threes, you surround them with solid screens and they will bomb 50 threes a game and win the game

If the assumption is that the team getting two players is the Rockets and that we are keeping Harden, the choice is easily Thompson and Green. Harden can't play with other ball dominant guard and Harden is not a good defender. The facts that Thompson is an elite shooter and defender make him suited to play alongside Harden, and Green is an animal that any team should want.

This is really hard. They didn't become the team they are until Green got the starting PF job. But, the dynamic of Curry and Klays combined shooting? I mean Klay might be the 2nd best shooter ever. That's the top 2 shooters on the same team.

****. I guess i have to go Curry and Draymond because Draymond is harder to find in another player and hope i could find a JJ Redick to play SG and replace Klay.

Just give me Thompson and Curry. Green has heart, but those threes though....

Livingston and Speights because GSW are nothing without the depth and don't miss a beat when those guys come in. In fact they go on a run when Curry sits out and those guys play and they pretty much Carry Curry or something like that I heard

I'm guessing all those who picked Curry and Klay over Curry and Green have not watched enough Warrior games...

Their defense AND offense falls apart without Green doing all the little things + passing When one of Steph or Klay are off the court, they are still extremely good (as evidenced by when Curry was out these playoffs.)

I'd say Curry & Green before the playoff started, but now it's 50/50 between Thompson and Green. People tend to underestimate Thompson's game because GSW has a better shooter in Curry, and better defenders in Iggz, Green, Bogut, Barnes. But as a whole, you don't see anyone comes close to his shooting ability, still possess the solid defense he provided.

One of the things make Green so valuable is that GSW doesn't have any interior force, either offense, or rebounding. If Bogut can average ~25min a game, provide 10pt+ as he did early in his career, Green would not appeared as valuable as he is today.

I think GSW can replace Green with several all-star level PFs, still maintain the level they play at. But it's hard to find any shooter as good as Thompson, who can also give you solid defense.

I think sometimes Klay has more of an impact then Green

Ultimately I think you need all three and if you lose one you need to replace that someone that gives you most of what you're losing. Its still a tough choice but fortunately Warriors should be able to keep all three.

I think you saw tonight what happens to your defense when Green isn't there, despite big games from both Curry and Thompson, they lose for like the third time all year at home.

Green covers up so many defensive possessions, he's STILL underrated in today's NBA because most people aren't really watching.

GSW had 18 assists tonight, from a team that averaged almost 30 all year.

How did it go playing Barnes at the 5? I'd be willing to bet if you had Green + Klay or Curry tonight, they win.

That's because they got Klay as Curry's replacement and vice versa.

The dubs were fighting ok even when bogut was having foul trouble. But once he's out, you can tell the whole team got flustered. Layups and dunks piling up the other way, and no inside presence to pass to on offense. They lost confidence in the way they normally play and started throwing up really bad shots.

That's what you see when you have no replacement for Green.

I mean had bogut not been injured, I believe it'd be a close game like first half, even if dubs end up short.

I completely agree. At one point they had a super small lineup with Barnes essentially playing Center with Night out.

    I don't think we'll see that again.

    Curry and Green

Then I'll trade for J.J. Redick.

2nd most important player on GS by far. Easily illustrated in last nights game on his importance. Things that many don't see

I'd say most important player on GS. They can afford to lose either Curry or Thompson because the other guy can pick up the points by shooting more. But nobody comes close to replace Green for what he can do on that team.

They lose almost all games when Green plays poorly, but they still blew out Cavs when Curry and Thompson had off night in game one.
