[Rant] Drivers that don't use turn signals/blinkers?

absolutely. They make it hard for EVERYONE including themselves.

Also, I think Over-cautious drivers cause just as many accidents as reckless drivers.

 

I think I may have to go back to flipping people off. I'm sick of all these sorry drivers in the D/FW metroplex. Some of these people should not be on the road.

 

Drive with a dash cam. $75 investment can save you thousands when an accident happens. It likely would've caught his plate and you'd have evidence he caused the accident.

 

It's hard to hit the blinker when you're texting though. How the hell am I supposed to get my knee up there with the steering wheel in the way?

 

Blinkers should be like https: there is no excuse to not use them everywhere.

 

You should worry more about indecisive granny who turns on her blinker and proceeds to wait until 5 minutes later to get over. And she doesnt just swang her caddy over like a boss. She dips her toe in and slowly gets over making sure 2 lanes are slowed not just the one.

 

Only thing worse is those idiots who turn onto a (significantly) faster moving thoroughfare and decide they absolutely need to go 2-3 lanes deep rather than the right-most lane. Very analogous to merging onto a freeway at 30mph

And yes, use your GD signals everywhere, wtf man... most of you fools would fail defensive driving.

 

Ehhh, I doubt that. I understand the displeasure with the old folks or foreigners that drive too slow, merge too slow, etc but no way that can be as dangerous as the champs that treat every highway like an F1 track.

 

To me - in addition to drivers that don't use their turn signals, it's even more insulting when one is driving on a regular highway or on the freeway and youre in a lane that eventually turns right or left at an intersection.

It's so much fun when some idiot cuts in without using a turn signal then a few seconds later, they use their turn signal while sitting in the right turn only lane or left turn only WHEN EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS YOU ARE TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT BECAUSE YOU'RE IN THE F'CKING RIGHT TURN OR LEFT TURN ONLY LANE!

Whats worse is when someone puts their blinker on and there is not enough safe room for them to switch lanes yet they do it anyway because in their mind as long as they indicated it means either miraculously room will free up out of nowhere or i will slam my brakes for them.....no!

In traffic, I use it once I'm a few feet into the next lane as a sign of dominance over the asshat behind me that tried to freeze me out.

 

1. This. It's like they have no sense of how fast the other cars are moving in the lane they want to rush to...oh i see no one's next to me..let me just move. oh i didn't realize u were going 20mph faster than me. well you can brake.

2. no turn signals

3. the citizen police of the left lane. you want to go faster than the speed limit? not if I can help it!! I will hold the fort down at exactly 60 mph.

4. The over aggressive lane switcher. Yes you saved 10 secs and put 20 cars at risk in the process.

5. The person who is going too slow to stay behind but fast enough that it's hard to pass up without speeding up a lot. also somehow tends to close up any passing gaps you are hoping to exploit.

6. the "i drive a small car but I have to take a wide left turn like an 18 wheeler" person

7. the "oh i am at the front of the line at a signal...good I can take my time since I will make it anyway"

8. the texter. i am glad your conversation is more important than my life.

 

I hear this all the time, but I think it's a myth reckless drivers always say to justify the crappy way they drive.

If someone is going 90 in a 50 and someone else pulls out in front of them, I submit that it's the person speeding that caused the accident.

 

so you are the d******d that just starts randomly braking and then takes a right turn while I almost rear end you because I have no idea that you are actually going to stop and turn.

This times a million. Posted about it twice already here. This gets me every single time.

 

Not gonna lie, when there's a long ass line to get off of one freeway onto another (ie, getting off 610 to get on 45 south or getting off 290 to get on the beltway) I will go towards the front of the line and jump in.

For years I didn't do this and would always get so pissed at those who did, but then I did it once out of necessity, and now I can't stop myself. Note: I don't go all the way to the very front and force myself in, but I do at least cut in towards the middle when I see an opening.

I justify this to myself like: hey, I got a f***in' baby that I have to get to and/or take somewhere, all yall other people on the road aren't doing something this important.

 

I'm starting to think that I have to do this as well.

I hate that "if you can't beat em, join em" mentality but you're on to something.

I could either patiently wait or be a guy too that jumps in front. There's always space near the front but not all the way like you're saying. I'm still on the fence.

I like to think that the jerks that do cut ppl off near the front will get their karma.

What are blinkers? And does Tesla's autodrive use them?

To the cutters above, there is no such thing as karma, only traffic and accidents. Please stop.
Would you get to your destination faster if you didn't cut? Probably not. Would the rest of traffic move faster and decrease the amount of accidents? Without a doubt
