I agree that it doesn't matter who the president is. I'll admit that. It is dday's anniversary tho and it's not really being mentioned.
It's gonna be a glorious day when Trump loses by record margins and the entire Republican party is in utter dysfunction while it tries to overhaul itself.
Wow, pretty much ipaman and cml750 are a lot smarter than me, no matter my accomplishments. What a sad day this is for me on the internet. I can't even trust myself to see that one party has moved steadily away from data and clear-headedness. I just need to stay independent as a stated status, while simultaneously noting the GOP is, over and over, on the wrong side of most things that involve information and objective analysis. Okay, done. I am now independent. As always, I am happy to support GOP initiatives and candidates who share my values and can broadly embrace factual information. What do I win? Can I consider myself intelligent again?
Disagree that it's "worse" but in many ways, I actually agree with you. The difference is we've had time for multiple stages of the grief process over the last four years, knowing this day would surely come. Neither party really seems to have any up and coming stars with both talent and mass appeal, for whatever reason. Kinda sad, TBH.
Is it though? it seems they are doubling down on their racist, xenophobic core. Once they realize that that demographic is not going to win them elections anymore, they will have to do something to engage minorities and women. That means a complete 180 in terms of policy.
Which policies that are racist and xenophobic where 180 degree changes would endear the GOP to more women and minorities are you talking about?
Tell you what - go back and reread the 2 or 3 relevant threads concerning this election and you will find a host of examples. No thanks needed. Enjoy yourself.
Trump is going idiot mode again and going crazy on the judge. Saying you are afraid judge is biased is reasonable, but you gonna do better than just simply go after one's heritage. Hillary is laughing her ass off right now. I can't see me voting for crooked Hillary. I will just stay home and I agree: it will be a landslide win for Hillary. You can't elect an idiot to be president.
Competent crooks over idiots every day and twice on Sunday, and they cannot even prove Hillary is a crook.
I just got back from a national meeting of about 700 lawyers and paralegals. Well I am not a big Hillary fan as you know. but I have assumed she will be the last of the old style corporate DLC Dems to win till the Dem Party or possiblly its successor returns to acutally representing the majority i.e the working class. If the Dems lose it will be because they cooked the books for the weak establishment candidate. I was shocked at how many Trump supporters there were. Granted I knew there were quite a few Republicans, but based on the type of law we do, I assumed they would be the sensible types who would be deciding whether to sit out the campaign or hold their nose and vote for Hillary. Overall the Conference as probably split about half half for Trump vs Hillary. At one dinner with about 9 other attendees one young 25 year old woman attorney was strong for Hillary and all other 8 folks excluding me attacked her based on their enthusiastic support for Trump. At that point I kept quiet, but told her later I was proud of her for being political and sticking to her guns. I had previously challenged her from the progressive i.e Bern point of view.
You know damn good and well you don't have anything to add to the conversation except worthless post count padding. If you had even one single coherent policy to apply to the above why don't you enlighten us all or STFU.
Seriously, though, won't we miss stories like this? http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...n-american-gregory-cheadle-npr-news/85477062/ Reminds me of the Larry David, Krazy Eyed Killer relationship.
At the rate Trump is going, I'm hoping he is able to hold his campaign together before the Republican convention. We *need* him to be the nominee so he can take them all down with him.
Well, that would require the Republican party leadership to stand up to Trump - something they are apparently incapable of doing. Remember - these are the people who tell you that Democrats are the weak ones - meanwhile they get steamrolled by a barely coherent moron who can't organize his way out of a paper back but is good at getting stupid people to read his twitter.
Losing might be better for the healing of the party than winning. Trump winning sounds like a disaster for the GOP to me. They recognize they need a 180, but pulled a 360 instead. Their best efforts to court hispanics and women (during the Bush Admin, by my reckoning) were buried by the Tea Party and Donald Trump.
Do you seriously think that I give a damn about how many posts I have? That's hilarious. I feel like I've traveled a decade back in the past in a time machine, when post counts mattered to people on the BBS. What matters to me is if people like my posts, or don't like them for what I realize is a good reason. You don't fit the latter category. I don't care what you think about my posts. Zero. Nada.
