DJ was never worth a max contract.

But the way the NBA goes, big men who are competent in at least one thing get max dollars.

    Because you can't teach height.

The Follow up question was. . . .. Who do you think we could get on the cheap?

I seen someone did not want Barnes. . . but for the right price. . . . . . why not

I guess that depends on what your "right price" is. Barnes is a restricted free agent so GS has the right to match any offer. Even if he were wiling to take a lower salary, you still wouldn't get him because then GS would simply match the offer and keep him.

The only way that you would realistically have a chance to sign Barnes is to offer him an amount that is higher than what GS is willing to pay. The problem is that somebody is most likely going to offer him something near the max. There's too many teams with too much available dollars to spend to believe that one of those teams won't make a crazy offer.

If you believe that Barnes is worth that kind of money then it would make sense. If you don't believe that Barnes is worth a huge contract then the going rate for him is probably out of your comfort zone.

Barnes is like every other player, his value is dependent on his salary. Barnes on a reasonable deal is a good value. Barnes on a near max deal is a bad value (IMO).

Austin Croshere has played great. Someone needs to pay that guy this offseason!

Livingston might get a big payday elsewhere, but he's signed until next summer.

I think Bogut has slowly lowered his value in the playoffs, especially against OKC. If you called his illegal picks, he'd be pretty worthless.

Jonas Valanciunas was playing the best basketball of his life the first couple rounds of the playoffs before he went down in game 3 against Miami. One could say that Indiana's front court was extremely thin hence why JV dominated so hard but I think he will take this level of play into next season and have a career year.
