Sorry to start a new thread, this has probably been asked before. But the search ... Is there anybody who has experience with Dish network, and know if it carries NBA TV like Dirct TV? I am comparing these two right now, it seems that Dish has more advantage than Direct TV. Since there are going to be quite few Rox game only on NBA TV this year, so I want to make sure ... Thanks in advance!
Better yet. A direct link to Dish Network. http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/ppv/sports_events/basketball/index.shtml
Thanks alot. I saw that link too, but I wasnt sure if it's really NBA TV or just a promo program like comcast or other cable company put there. I wanted to hear live person saying that yes he has had it last year. Great. It looks like I am going for the Dish with DVR $150 credit to the first 3 month. I called up DirectTV customer serverice, asking if I can change their NFL sunday ticket promo to League pass. With subscription to NFL and one year premium channels, DirectTV would give first 4 month for free. But the sales rep wouldnt swap NBA for NFL for me, even if I pay the difference. So Dish wins my business.
I know this is an odd concept, but the best people to ask would probably be Dish Network because not all providers provide the same content in all locations.
I went through this before. So I hope that my experience could be a help and save you some time on this. ================= How to get NBA TV ================= Cable: Being unable to have NBA TV on cable was a huge turn-off for me. That is the biggest reason that I switched to satellite TV. But there is a good news this season for some CableTV users who subscribe to Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and Cablevision. Rest of you are out of luck (including Comcast customers). Dish Network: There are two ways you can get NBA TV. 1. Get NBA TV in "Multi-Sport" package. "Multi-Sport" package is included in "America's Top 100" or above basic packages. Or you can get it separately at $5.99/month. 2. Get NBA TV through NBA League Pass. You can order NBA League Pass when you subscribe to ANY basic packages. Note that you don't need to have League Pass to get NBA TV. And on the other hand, if you have League Pass (many of you will anyway), you don't need to get "Multi-Sport" to just have NBA TV. You may end up with many choices. But here are A FEW (most economical, assuming only interest in NBA) sample scenarios: Package Channel Price Note ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Top 50" + "Multi-Sport" 402 $30.98/m ($24.99+$5.99) "Top 100" 402 $33.99/m "Top 50" + League Pass 560 $24.99/m+$179(?) DirectTV: There are two ways you can get NBA TV. 1. Get NBA TV in "SPORTS Pack" package. "SPORTS Pack" package is included in "TOTAL CHOICE PREMIER " package. Or you can get it seperately at $12/month. 2. Get NBA TV through NBA League Pass. You can order NBA League Pass when you subsribe to ANY basic packages. Note that you don't need to have League Pass to get NBA TV. And on the other hand, if you have League Pass (many of you will anyway), you don't need to get "SPORT Pack" to just have NBA TV. You may end up with many choices. But here are A FEW (most economical, assuming only interest in NBA) sample scenarios: Package Channel Price Note ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "T. Choice" + "SPORTS Pack" 601 $45.99/m ($33.99+$12) "T. Choice" + League Pass 601(?) $33.99/m+$159 (bef.11/4) For those who can not decide between Dish Network and DirectTV, here is a link to a site that compares the two. But that may not be a substitution for your homework on studying their own web sites, and probably calling them directly. http://www.dish-network-vs-direct-tv.com/
So if I have Comcast and buy the NBA league pass, I will still miss like 11 rockets games because they don't have NBATV?
