To be fair, the author is picking random one off plays out of the thousands and thousands of plays and saying, hey, it should work.

And as I've come to terms with MDA as the choice... yes, even I, who am completely baffled by the hire, recognize that offensively, this should really work.

I mean, it will certainly be fun to see a fluid offense scoring lots of points.

Just got to figure out the defense and I don't think, regardless of what brother Dan says, that the defense will be there.

    Very nice article! Good read.

    This passage caught my eye

Secondary ball handler to run the pick and roll. YES PLEASE. This team needs this player so desperately.

In April, Beverly showed flashes of being able to do this. He was also shooting very well at that time, so maybe teams were just honoring his shot.

If Dekker is actually healthy and can play NBA-level defense to stay on the court, he showed the ability to do that at Wisconsin.

In the right line up (likely a big one), Beasley can run a PF/C pick and roll which could be a unique look given all yours wings can space the floor really well and hopely knock down the shot.

the fact that HP is using clips where phoenix is playing seattle should tell you all you need to know about how outdated this is.

MDA was once revolutionary with his offensive approach, but the league caught up and passed him. Morey was once revolutionary with his analytics based approach, but the league caught up and passed him. Les Alexander was once ahead of the pack with the dual/triple superstar approach, but the league caught up and passed him.

thats the thing about being an innovator, its not enough to innovate once and expect that to carry you for your career. to be successful you have to continually adapt to the demands of the competitive environment. none of Les, Morey, or MDA have shown an ability to do that.

I hear you, but the thought of Beverly being our 2nd play maker is depressing. Can't count on Dekker for anything. I do love the 4/5 PnR - was my favorite thing about the first Josh Smith tour. But does Beasley know how to pass the ball?

    That's an obvious yes.

DA's teams don't play defense. Just like Harden

That was supposed to be Ty last season. Unfortunately, once alcohol left Ty, his game left with it.

I think its telling that they had to go back to the Asik days to find an example of Harden doing a spread pick and roll with a center. I wonder why that is, lol.

We've already got that guy. We need to get the primary ball handler.
