Found out from a very reliable source (not a source of a source) that this pick was made 100% by Morey and not Les. Morey wanted a coach that fits his mega 3 point system and after interviewing several candidates fell in love with the imperfect Dantoni. Consider him the Patrick Beverly of coaches. Les agreed to Morey's pick only on the condition that he surrounds Dantoni with a qualified defensive coach.

I have been interested if this is partially the case though. I have asked multiple people in threads to corroborate the Les hiring Pringles without Murray's input story and have yet to see any decent example or evidence that's the case.

This is the case and no idea why Morey is getting a free pass on this pick. Of course he loves Dantoni.....he is the original creator of the Morey 3 point system. Morey has utilized his system with not only the Rockets, but the NBDL team as well. Believe it or not, Les likes and still supports Morey and has traveled all over the country with him several times the past few weeks. Morey is not being held against his will and deserves the professional courtesy of receiving the credit or blame for this pick.
