https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/ man, the 'Harden got robbed' threads are getting a lot of upvotes in the NBA subreddit right now. this is like first time in a year I think Harden has recevied legit sympathy from non-rockets fans. weird how things work out.
What a joke. Harden became the fourth player in NBA history to average 29 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds.
Seeing AD, Harden losing out and Cousins, Lillard making the list, I think the huge factor was how the team performed relative to the last season. Both the Pelicans and Rockets had worse record this year, Kings fared slightly better but still pretty much sucked, and Portland beat out the expectations. And this is the key. It's all about beating expectations, not actual level of performance. If you go from A+ to A-, that player is considered worse than a player who went from B- to B+. Dumb-asses.
So many things affecting this. His reputation in the media of not trying/caring with lack of effort on defense. His reputation in some of the media for being horrible to watch and "tricking" his way into his offensive success. For the team being a huge disappointment, he ended up taking the blame. If you see the list, it is overwhelmingly Western Conference names. While not correct, it would be very much human nature to want to try to balance that out some. Which what many reporters may have done with all the Eastern Conference players in the 3rd team.
But NBA said James Harden playing no defense.... Le$ said we don't need to play defense at all. So everything is ****ed up!!!!
you would actually think that if you were holding "defense and chemistry" against him, that would factor in more for a value award than what is typically more of a talent award.
Rockets has the worst reputation in media. I bet if James Harden is a Laker, this won't happen!!! This organization just sucks.
On XM NBA Radio (86) earlier today a couple of the voters spoke on why Harden got snubbed. To sum up what was said just see my signature. They spoke of his lack of leadership, ego, selfishness, and poor effort being the reasons the media didn't vote for him. It was said that by his numbers he should've been there, but no one ever questions the effort of the guards that finished above him. So it would've been hard to place him above other players that leave it all on the court when it was obvious many times this season he didn't.
Media voting all nba teams are bs!!!! Only lbj and jordan have average 29 7 6 in a season.. And no all nba? Players need to votes not this ****in media!!! No wonder harden was robbed the mvp last year!!! This a pure bull**** nba!!!!
