You know what's pitiful? Having pity for a millionaire who isn't going to lose his job or money because he didn't win an award. Harden not winning this doesn't effect him one bit and I need to feel sorry for him? You wanna hand out participation ribbons to the team too? SOFT ASS BS.
damn you're obviously a moron. why are you even continuing to reply to me. I must be that important to you. Im flattered.
Curry wasn't better last year. He was one of the weakest MVP's in over 10 years. This year however he was definitely better than Harden. Harden clearly deserved all NBA this year but what Im more surprised about is people on this site celebrating a Rockets player being snubbed, lol.
I'm a Houston Rockets fan. Before this year started the same people blasting Maury for this roster were saying it was the best ever assembled. I'm mean, come on. Chill out. It was a bad season. You guys acting like Maury caused global warming. He is trying to correct the problem.
Didn't deserve it IMO. Negated much of his offensive impact with terrible turnovers and not playing any defense, and that was reflected in his declining plus/minus numbers. Zach Lowe left him off his ballot: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/15198958/nba-awards-ballot-part-2 "Harden was a tougher cut, especially with Houston eking out a playoff spot thanks mostly to Utah gagging a couple winnable late-season games. Harden does everything for a broken Rockets offense. He's derided as some sort of bearded clown, but clowns don't play 82 games and lead the league in minutes -- a ridiculous, unsustainable load that contributed to his drop-off on defense. He edged Lillard for a spot on my All-Star roster just two months ago. But over those two months, Portland surged, while Houston continued spinning in mud, a miserable group loafing through entire halves of basketball. Even during their late-season playoff "push," they lost to the freaking Bulls and Suns at home, and let the pitiful Lakers hang around for 40 minutes. Losing and melodrama sapped this team's spirit. Harden didn't poison Houston's culture, but he also did nothing to mend it. He showed up out of shape, in part due to a lingering injury, lazed through defense, and too often froze Houston's offense after one action. He's a great passer, but too many of his passes -- even his assists -- come late in the shot clock, after a double team locks him in jail. Thompson blazed from January through March, and blows Harden away on defense. The Rockets would be worse if you flipped them, and shoe-horned Thompson into Harden's grueling No. 1 option role, but Houston is a mediocrity as is. In a coin flip, I have no problem defaulting to the team that just won 73 freaking games."

James Harden as crap as he played is one of the top 15 players in the league. IM sick of hate that he has tossed on him. He attacks the paint instead of chucking 50 ft bombs that are BAD shots...He loves and enjoys playing through contact...OH and he is durable as heck. He takes a ton of punishment and the media like to pick on his "lacl of defense.." He must get better, but his stats even in a down year is ALL NBA worthy. What a joke.
seeing how well GSW did w/o Curry in this year's playoffs (almost making to WCF without him), I'm not so sure about that. He had far superior supporting cast (and still do), while Harden almost has none. And let's be honest, it wasn't no different this season. Maybe the truth lies somewhere between winning 56 games and 41 games, but I don't think we severely underperformed given our overall talent level.
This is an individual level award, so how can you reward Lillard for having a better coach and better supporting cast? Except for Beverley, the Rockets across the board were worse this year. You put Harden on that Portland team and they might have put up a fight in the second round. It's not as easy as that because this is an award that should recognize individual performances.
I was only talking about offense, he is a top 10 offensive player, but apparently he needs to be SHAMED into playing both ends. Whatever makes my team better. DD
Everybody was so excited when Lawson was signed. On paper this team should do better than the team last year. Instead it's a major disappointment. So it's fair that the leader takes some blame.
Harden must be the most naturally gifted basketball player to touch the planet then, as there is no way any other player who doesn't care about basketball at all could have the season he had this year. And I get it...the defense was bad this year. No doubt. Same with the turnovers. The criticism is just too far right now, and I'm not even saying he deserved to make All-NBA. I thought he was borderline pretty much throughout. Literally zero people (who are worth listening to) think Harden is blameless. His defense and turnovers must improve. But you're right...Morey is at fault. The team around Harden was in no way sufficient this year. It was a team-wide collapse, from Harden to the supporting cast to the coach to the front office. Harden is certainly the only reason the Rockets even sniffed the playoffs, though.
I think some guys are so worried about their public image that they have to be shamed into playing hard, that to me, is Harden. I hope he comes back to prove them wrong and plays some defense. DD
I have no pity for millionaires and billionaires. I never said I pity Harden, Maury or Les. I pity the behavior of the "fans" that are getting glory from the Rockets dysfunction. Go back and check, I NEVER said I feel bad for Harden for missing out on this award. I simply said I hope this finally motivates him.
like i said the criteria widens with depth. you have to make a decision not just based on stats. that should be pretty obvious. All of that replacing this player with that means nothing at the end of the day. Its the results that matter whether you like it or not.
You're flattered at being called out for celebrating but you're upset that I called you out for celebrating? LOL ok.
Like I posted before, TMAC was on a team with a 21-61 record and made 2nd team. This not about criteria, etc. It's about social media, defensive juggernaut videos, etc.
