and there we go.... it had to be something else....Everyone can calm down now and apologize to CD and Les for all the evil things you just got done thinking.... whew!!!
That should makes us feel a "little" better, but Glenn's contract was a commodity for us. Something else has to give! I just can't believe that this was all that the Rockets could have done. I get it, but I don't get it.
Sorry, but this is still a bad move. For the first time since that terrible day when we acquired Rice, his bloated contract had value this year in the form of cap relief. 1st round picks have value. John Amechi is now on the tab for another couple of seasons, which is a minus...So this adds up like this: * Rice's cap relief. * a first round pick. * whatever money we signed Jackson for. * taking on Amechi's bad deal. * future draft considerations. for Jim Jackson and a 2nd rounder or two? I call terrible move.
Absolutely no way does this make up for giving away Rice's expiring contract for John Amaechi and trading a 1st round pick for 2 second round picks.
This is no consolation for trading away a 13 - 18 1st round pick and a valuable trade asset, for a guy who sucks, and a second round pick, then we pay jim jackson, why not just trade rice for the second (Even though they should get a first from somebody) then sign jackson if really desperate, but don't trade rice and get back a relatively expensive piece of junk

yeah, something else has to be going on. Its gotta be the 7 mil exception. You don't give a 1st round pick for nothing. Something else has to be happening.
Yea.... I'll take a Rice for Jackson and chump anyday. Also, FIRST ROUND PICKS ARE NOT GOLD!!! Seriously folks... especially not with a young team who scouts 2nd round picks well. In fact, unless its a top 3 pick, I have more confidence in the Rockets selecting in the 2nd round than the 1st. Boki... Jason Collier... Rodrick Rhodes?!?
I don't think Jim Jackson is a starting 2 anymore... if Mobley goes then we still do not have the depth at the 2 that we are after... Thanks for getting your point across... Thanks for getting your point across...
I dunno about this trade. Jim Jackson has bounced around the league like a ping pong ball and Rice's contract was pretty valuable. Didn't the Kings get Jackson for the vet minimum last year? God I'm afraid to see what we're going to pay him.
I for one applaud the move. Not a major trade or signing compard to the rest of the league but an improvement to the Adrian Griffin and Piatkowski pickup. We now have decent shooters to take pressure off of Yao Ming.
