possibilities with the King's Landing storyline 1. Everything is as it seems. The Sparrow told Tommen that Margaery would have a walk of shame, expecting Tommen to keep the secret. Tommen told the secret to his mother. Cersei then told it to the Tyrells and suggested they team up. 2. The Sparrow told Tommen the secret knowing Tommen would spill the beans to Cersei, and laying some sort of trap for her. 3. Tommen told Cersei something else (perhaps that the Tyrells killed Joffrey?) and Cersei made up the walk of shame threat to trick Olenna into using the Tyrell army to attack The Faith. 4. some combination of the above this show's plotting is so uninspired and unsubtle, it wouldn't surprise me if #1 is the case
I'm guessing it's #1, where the Sparrow loses a big portion of his forces but is still alive. Sparrow knowingly does this for the long con. Somehow Sparrow weasels his way back into Tonmen's ear as a source of truth because everyone else lies to him. I hope I'm wrong as that's some boring plodding ish.
It will be scenario #2 imo. Also just wanted to throw out there that I like Game of Thrones and have enjoyed the whole series including this season.
To me Dany has become the most annoying character on the show. Everything just keeps conveniently falling into place for her. Her burning all the Khals was just too easily done. I'm hoping she doesn't end up on the Iron Throne but it seems to be where the show is headed.
Yeah, but..........gratuitous t*tties. Actually, her story isn't so bad. At least it isn't Season 2 where she's wandering in the desert until she reaches Qarth etcetera etcetera. I did smile at the end of last season and the beginning of this season. When Daario and Jorah set off after Dany, I couldn't help but think of the former saying, "Let's hunt some orc!", and the latter responding, "Yeeeeeeeeessssssssss!" Hell, Dany even left them a Pippin-like clue. When Jorah found the ring she'd dropped, he should have said, "Not idly do the leaves of Lorien fall."
After watching that episode, Spoiler I'll feel dickish if I ever ask someone to hold a door for me again
Just got done this weekend. The one thing that stood out for me was this season was the final and inevitable corruption of Claire. Don't get me wrong. She is cold, calculating, and a selfish backstabber, but in the premise of the show she is also Frank's moral compass no matter how broken that compass might be. Claire has kept Frank from going down the path of darkness, or becoming a full psychopath. Frank has no conscience that much has been clear since season 1, but now to see Claire who has shown bits and pieces of humanity like the moments leading up to her mother's death, suddenly embrace the Frank way with the simple but powerful line,"I'm done trying to win over people's hearts." is simply tragic and brilliant. To me this series is now about the character arc of Claire. In narrative of terms, Frank has remained static since day one when we first saw him at the inauguration. his quest for power has not changed him, therefore the narrative arc now rest upon Claire who has gone from misguided philanthropist with her Clean Water Initiative to now lust for power and VP at all costs.
Episode 5 was a tough one man. Spoiler Goddammit, Hodor and Summer. Sad to see them die but how does Hodor being younger and having a seizure come into play with actually holding the door in the older Hodor and Brans visions? Sansa gonna Sansa. Still getting played and now her little lie is gonna put others in harms way. Littlefinger is gonna end up giving her back to Ramsey and I wont feel sorry for her one bit.
enjoyed the episode . a few complaints Spoiler Why hire Max Von Sydow just to give him no interesting dialogue? Why not save money and spend it on CGI instead. I hope this isn't the only backstory we get into the Whitewalkers. I want to know what they have been doing for so long up north. whats their motivation for killing everything and what's their day to day like. OR just give me tons more backstory on the Night's King. That 2 minute scene will not suffice.
