As in, I get it make the right decision but man we are end up stuck with Pringles cause everyone else is gone.
We have to be patient. Finding the perfect puppet (I mean coach) takes time. He has to.... 1. Be analytics friendly (or be willing to bomb away from 3 even if they're not going in) 2. Be okay with upper management picking his assistants 3. Build an offense that keeps the ball and bodies moving when the star player is a ball-dominant guard 4. Be willing to keep his cool when his star player thinks defense is optional. (Don't wanna make him angry) 5. Be willing to be take the blame when Morey's decisions don't work out. (Could be unemployed 11 games into next season) Who knows, maybe James Borrego is that guy.
Opted to broaden their search, hmm... Daryl being like the rest of us and saying anyone but D'Antoni and trying to sell Les on other guys? Or Leslie not knowing how to run a coaching search? That's self explanatory but... or are the conspiracy theorists right and Mike D'Antoni's named was leaked just to "scare" Dwight away? http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...-antonio-spurs-assistant-james-borrego-monday
Smh. They really interviewed a person with sheep as their last name. Rockets won the 2016 championship meddle.
Hello, i work in Hollywood and i would like to talk to you about buying your script. Why don't you step into my hotel room so we can discuss business in private.
No conspiracy, JR. It's common sense. What team would hire a coach that hates a player that is owed $23 million and hates the coach? (Not the Rockets.) What player is going to be dumb enough to be buffaloed out of $23 million? (Not Dwight.) Les is playing with fire. They've got to resolve the situation with Dwight.
Well they aren't hiring Mike D'Antoni to push out Dwight. If they do, it's because Leslie really does like & has long admired Mike. And I'm willing to bet Dwight won't be a Rocket next year, even if he opts in and tries to "screw" them. •Opt out, go get your last long term deal and move on. •Opt in because you think you're screwing the Rockets, they'll end up moving you. This is what these teams — Miami, Charlotte, Milwaukee to name a few — wanted. Opt in for one more year so you're not a rental and we don't have to pay you long term? YES PLEASE! WE ABSOLUTELY HAVE INTEREST IN DWIGHT! Of course he wasn't willing to do that but now he's gonna do it to "screw" the Rockets. Okay, whatever Dwert.
Adrian Griffin too. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">NBA sources: <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Rockets?src=hash">#Rockets</a> are bringing in Adrian Griffin for an interview as part of their search for their new head coach</p>— Mark Berman (@MarkBermanFox26) <a href="https://twitter.com/MarkBermanFox26/status/734055798490308608">May 21, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Honestly don't know why people are mad about this. Borrego is in serious consideration for the Grizzlies job and Griffin was top 2 for the Magic before they went Vogel. I'd take both of these dudes over D'Antoni in half a heartbeat.
So Leslie is reported to want a coach with strong credentials as a HC and big name. Out of all of those, only one fits that bill: D'Antoni. 90% sure D'Antoni will be hired and 10% a guy out of the blue, but I'm saying Morey will lose this one and we will be ****ed for the next 3-4 years.
It just feels to me that Les likes MDA, and Morey doesnt. And Morey is trying to show Les any other candidate he can find to get Les to change his mind. Morey MIGHT have suceeded with Silas. We'll see.
Who's gonna give me the best discount? Is that you Mike? Or you Stephen? http://www.houstonchronicle.com/spo...edule-longtime-assistants-Borrego-7929543.php
So you want them to hire Mike D'Antoni? Because he's the only candidate available with experience. What we want is fresh new blood who is known well for coaching, discipline and developing players. Who can teach something different. Stephen Silas is that guy. We've seen what Mike D'Antoni is and he's not what this team needs James Borrago and Adrian Griffin are assistants with experience who went under Popovich and Tom Thibodeau. They sound so much better than Mike D'Antoni.
