Anyway, so I have an old laptop from 2004 or so and the screen no longer works on it. I jacked the hard drive out and hooked it up to a Sabrent drive to see what's on it. I want to snake the emails off of it and transfer them to my newer laptop. The old laptop ran Windows ME but I can't find any info on how to transfer outlook express emails from Windows ME to Outlook 10. Anyone know how to do this?
Based on this: https://askleo.com/how_do_outlook_outlook_express_and_outlookcom_relate/ Your only option would be to somehow archive the email in pdf format. You wouldn't happen to have an old version of Adobe Acrobat, would you?
He also says this: I say “was” because Outlook Express has been DISCONTINUED. Outlook Express has been formally discontinued by Microsoft and won’t be found in Windows versions begining with Vista. In fact, Outlook Express simply will not run in Windows 7 or later. My experience answering questions on and trying to help people with Outlook Express is that it is long past time to move on and select another email program. I hear of more email lost because of issues with Outlook Express than with any other email program.
No, you'll need to do an active conversion with a tool. there are freeware out there that does this... try google. If I remember the name of the util, I'll respond later. (keep a backup of dbx prior to conversion)
