I'd imagine that the trade market for Griffin would be wildly competitive, so if D-Mo and KJMcD is our best offer, I'm not sure that's enough to get it done.

That and why send one of your all-star players to the Rockets.

Last 2 guys to go after. HORFORD AND BARNES.

    Mediocre players at its finest.

Crabbe, Fournier, and whiteside would make this team a title contender for sure, just a guy who can make a shot in Fournier is already a major improvement of the Rockets can get it done!

Oh yeah. For sure eh??

What is the criteria for TITLE CONTENDER in this forum?

Add those three guys and we ..... still wouldn't have home court advantage in the playoffs (at best maybe home court in the first round if no other team improves whatsoever)

Durant is no longer a realistic target, so we have to accept that we will not build a title contender for next year but that doesn't mean we can't improve.

I guess if we add a top free agent like Horford we may be able to make a bit of a run in the playoffs. But lets keep in mind Warriors aren't going to disappear, Spurs aren't likely to take much of a step back, and if Thunder keep Durant, then ....poop.

Fournier, Crabbe, and Whiteside aren't sexy big name free agents but they're:

    1. Young and can still improve
    2. Are more attainable than the "Tier 1" free agents
    3. Addresses a lot of the Rockets' needs

You can switch out Crabbe for Ryan Anderson and I'd still like that better than chasing Durant, Conley, Horford only to come up empty handed.

Crabbe is a shooting guard...why do y'all want to waste cap space on back up for James? We need to put the space to better use. Grab him, if there's money left, after getting another all-star level player. Crabbe alone isn't going to make you a contender..have to swing big at this point, can't be afraid to miss.

What if you can add Jeff Teague at the point via a trade with Arias going to Atlanta?

Now you have Fournier (Sg/sf) Crabbe (Sg/sf) and Teague. That's a nice group of perimeter players along with Harden.

Fournier will get 16+ and Crabbe will get paid as well though less than that. Probably around 12 per. Also they are both RFA which means that to get them from their teams we will need to overpay and those prices above are what their teams will most likely willing to pay so as not to let them get away for nothing. Young wings who can shoot are extremely valuable now.

We're not interested in Fournier. Take that to the bank. Teague, yes.

I don't like Teague enough to trade for him but...if the price is ok i'd take him (since he's also cheap). And yes, i can agree with you you, no to Fournier, he's a talented player but i don't think he fits here...also, i don't like to overpay good players.

On a side note, i was looking at the Hawks salaries...except for the rookie scale contracts, all their players are expirings between this and next summer...wow...must keep an eye on them...

Waste of cap space..not enough minutes for 4 guys that all deserve significant minutes.

And still nothing up front...if I'd rather get a big name up front to give us some balance, over upgrading pg and sg back up spots.
