http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Kay-Felder-77928/ 5"9' PG Kay Felder is currently projected as second rounder due to small size, but his development and stats suggests first round talent. Other than obvious talent to do it all offensively, he has potential to be a capable defender with decent physical tools. Getting him in second round would be a steal IMO. Here's an interesting story about how his coach recruited him by not signing another PG: http://www.cbssports.com/collegebas...s-posting-big-stats-despite-his-small-stature
I don't know man. 5'9? Don't get me wrong, he might eventually get some minutes in the NBA, but would you really call that a steal? To me his upside seems like a backup PG that gets abused on defense, and is somewhat limited on the offensive end.
Relative to his projected draft position(late second round), he's a steal IMO. I wouldn't judge him solely by size given the success of some similar sized players in NBA.
The only weakness in Kay Felder's game is his height. He is a highly-skilled, highly-intelligent basketball player who is qualified to be a rotation player on a championship caliber team. And he would be a great fit on a MDA coached team. Would not surprise me one bit if we drafted him and he became an immediate rotation player for us.
Exactky. I picture MDAs offense is mostly run and gun and Felder and Barber would be perfect in a system like that.
This guy is a stud. He lit up Michigan State when they played. He's athletic, can score and is strong/savvy enough to guard bigger ones. He's a second round steal and I hope we snag him.
Could have had him. He was sitting there waiting for us. He's going to help Cleveland and will be a tremendous difference maker in the playoffs and Finals.
Daryl Morey is awful in identifying talent come draft night. He hasn't made any good picks since Chandler Parsons. He got lucky with Parsons. Drafting Patrick Patterson was solid but that was years ago. With this special deep draft coming up in 2017, hopefully he lets D'Antoni and staff make the picks. I believe that the Rockets have their own 1st Rd and Denver's & Portland's 2nd Rd picks. Rockets traded their own 2nd Rd pick to the Knicks for Pablo Prigioni several years ago.
Really? Capela wasn't a good pick? Jury is still out on Dekker and Montrezl, but Capela was definitely a good pick.
You overvalue the quality of water boy he can be during the playoffs. I am sure his production can easily be replicated by any unpaid intern. But on a serious note, he looks like his game is going to translate surprisingly well to the NBA. Tremendous impact in the NBA finals? That is a little dramatic.. But thus is the saga of BBholic
I would be happy for you to be right, I just don't see a rookie getting the PT even if he had the proper talent.
