In a Bob Kravits Q&A (Indy Star): Question: Do you find it ironic that Larry Brown had the nerve to say he was upset by the timing of the firing of Isiah Thomas? Considering the circumstances of Rick Carlisle's firing, I think coach Brown would be better served by refraining from comments. (Mike from Indianapolis) Answer: The guy's a great coach, but I get the sense sometimes that irony is lost on Larry. Good point. This is great and funny!
Larry Brown said he was upset at the timing of the Thomas firing? That is pretty damn funny. Would you happen to have a link to his comment?
I used to work at KSAT 12 in San Antonio as a sports intern when Brown was the coach of the Spurs. He as an A$$hole.....then and is still one now. I am thankful he did not get the Rockets job.... DD
http://www.indystar.com/print/articles/5/025644-3545-094.html It's at, or near the bottom, of Kravitz' Q&A -- mostly Colts then Jermaine O'Neal.
So basically Larry Brown's position is, "I do not want Rick Carlisle to be employed." That's f*cked up.
And he said (right before Carlisle was fired) that he wouldn't talk with the Wizzards when Collins was still the coach. Yeah, right, Larry.
The problem is, when he said he wouldn't talk with the Wizzards BEFORE Collins left, he was trying to project an image of dignity--"I'm not trying to take anybody's job." But Brown clearly talked with Detroit's management BEFORE Carlisle was fired AT THE TIME he made the dignified comment about Collins. The hypocricy there, imo, doubles the ugliness of his taking Carlisle's job. Now his comment about Thomas's firing makes his hypocricy even uglier.
