It's a cute little show. Supergirl is cute, and surprisingly the CG is really well done. It's also make believe and the **** you see on the screen isn't real life. It's either going to entertain you or it's not. I don't read comics and don't care for them.
It seemed like very much a chick flick kind of show. But I will give it a try eventually. I still need to watch Flash on Netflix tho
A bit surprised that this thread has been so dead. Anyone watch the season, at all? STARK contrast, compared to the chick flick pilot we all saw last year. Turned out to be a really good season. It just got renewed (yay!) and it's going to be on the CW now, instead of CBS (double yay!) http://tvline.com/2016/05/12/supergirl-renewed-season-2-moves-the-cw/
People really didn't like how women focused this Supergirl is; I think even the soundtrack is only women. I thought it was good show. I'm excited to see what it's like on the CW. This was a CW show anyway. CW now has FOUR DC shows! Gawd Damn.
I've watched the pilot, the second episode, and the flash crossover. None of them were any good IMO. Terrible writing, and extremely chick flick vibes. Maybe moving off CBS will gve the show a new edge, but I have no real interest in it. Honestly at this point Flash is the only one of the four I would even consider decent at this point. Arrow has gone to hell and I stopped watching Legends because it was boring me.
It was an ok show. Nothing close to 1st season of Arrow or Flash Or even the surprising iZombie It is in the second or third tier like Legends of Tomorrow Better than Gotham I have decided to no longer watch Gotham and Legends of Tomorrow Supergirl is on par with Agents of Shield - both are on the edge of me leaving them Next year they will be on the DVR and might not be seen for several weeks Rocket River
I think that's still why people are so quick to dismiss it. "A show about a female "superhero?" Hard pass." How does the show suck? I honestly think people need to watch more episodes of this show, to make a judgment. I judge a show harshly on its first few episodes as well, but I'm glad I stuck with the show. Melissa Benoist is better than Grant Gustin at being their respective superhero, and that's saying a lot, because Gustin is The Flash. LoT is terrible. Haven't seen Gotham yet, but I think LoT is the worst superhero show on TV. Time travel works however it is convenient, for the writers. Terrible writing.
Maybe I'll give it a shot at some point, but I got an extremely poor impression of that show from what I saw. The dialogue was the worst part, but her lack of confidence didn't sit well with me either. Supergirl should have a degree of arrogance, overconfidence, not be treated like a plucky try hard. iZombie has been mentioned in this thread a few times. That show has a female lead, and I love it, so I have no problem watching a female led show if it's good.
That is a bit of a Stretch for me. I don't think she is as good as Amel as the Arrow either [well pre emo arrow] She is ok. I think her supporting cast is adequate The storylines are ok and somewhat entertaining but like some people alluded to Turning Superman villians in to females was wack Mystiqu. . . .er . .. . Brainiac Alot of her 'Wins' come too easy and her learning curve I did not feel like she struggled and grew like Barry did then again . . .she does not have a Harry or CISCO Winn is a very very very very poor man's CISCO There Reveals are too . . .. meh. Martian Manhunter reveals was not well handled to me All in All it is a decent show I think CW may do a better job with it Rocket River
Amell has gotten worse and worse; most of his acting is so wooden, now. The best actor on Arrow is probably Diggle, in my opinion.
The last shows I can think of that switched networks were the Hogan Family and Family Matters; ironically enough when CBS was a total mess. But somewhat surprising is hearing that 7-8 million viewers isn't enough to stay on big 3.
I read somewhere it was the type of viewers. Something about the ads not reaching the people that were watching the show.
