I am curious to know which country my fellow BBSers think will become a economic and military superpower? I think China has the greatest potential.
i believe i have the potential to become the worlds' next super-power. maybe even the first ever uber-power. just my thoughts...
I know. He was just making an innocent joke, I think. But why did you put it in your signature? Would you have done the same thing if it had been a Chinese software company thinking he was Japanese? Or if he had said it the other way around? Trying to understand the point in putting it in your signature.
Russia seems to be gradually working it's way back onto the stage. They have the population, land, and natural resources to take on a leadership role on the world stage (which they are starting to do). They still have a lot of influence in Eastern Europe. Superpower is going a bit far, but once they work out their economic problems I can see them playing a major role on the world stage, perhaps similar to UK.
Russia? nah, they have a negative population growth rate; Growing populations and growingi influence go hand in hand. things might get better, but their superpower days are a distant memory.
Now that the European Union is beginning to solidify, I think they're going to become a bigger player in world politics.
In years to come men would look back and repent...lo, did they see and not percieve! That beneath the placid exterior, like unto a volcanoe 'neath a calmed lake, lurked the heart of a ravening beast. In time the beast would shed it's woolen cloak and emerge from beneath it's cool waters to terrorize the world, and all the peoples of the earth would live in the shadow, and fear the very name of... ...Lithuania!
I've been kinda wondering how much time you are spending in your room...and how you find the time to catch a flight with all the time you spend posting. Perhaps I'm a little too suspicious...
I was a little sick the past three days . Today, I walked on the rim of an active volcano crater. Left right after my last post here and just came back.
That reminds me of a little local paper in Southern California. The folks in the community would take a copy of the paper as they traveled and take pictures of themselves reading it...at the Great Wall, by Mt Everest, etc.... I sure would have enjoyed that pciture of you on your laptop, posting on the board...at that volcano rim.
1) China - They have the people, resources, groundwork and aspirations to become a superpower. 2) EU - If they ever truly get together like a mindless borg and not get divided by self interest, then they will be a power to be reckoned with. 3) Russia - How the mighty have fallen! We were so scared of them 20 years ago, and now the defanged bear is pseudo friends with us. If they ever straighten out the country, it'll be the return of the boogey man. But the US will continue to be the top dog, by any means necessary.
