My question is, did the Rockets pass on Joerger in favor of Vogel, OR did they MISS on Joerger.

Paul George Instagram post thanking Frank Vogel. Lots of respect there.

    Doesnt Vogel have more offers?
I thought the Knicks were interested in him.
Anyone has read anything about who Memphis wants?

Vogel has family in NY so they think that could attract him. And the Grizzlies contacted Vogel as well as others like Messina, Ewing

    Thanx for the info. Repped.

I hope Morey is indeed trying to move fast because as much as both those jobs arent the most attractive they sure are more attractive than making him wait for possibly many weeks and going through 3 rounds of interviews between 15 candidates.

Minnesota sucks and will suck until they pay for quality players. Did you see their roster when RA coached there?

On the other hand, did the most impressive coaching job here than any other coach besides Rudy

There are other possible candidates that are not being discussed.

Dwayne Casey and Terry Stotts are both possibly gone.

Daryl Morey has gotten a lot of grief about the coaching situation..... but the last time the Rockets were looking for a head coach, he interviewed Dwayne Casey, Dave Joerger, Frank Vogel, (attempted to interview) Budenholzer and Terry Stotts. He essentially identified every single assistant that would go one to be named head coaches in the coming seasons.

No guarantees, but there is no question to the Rockets will make an informed decision.

If the Rockets were dead set on Dave Joerger, they would have offered a longer and more lucrative contract than the Kings.

Minnesota was willing to spend money when Adelman was there.

Adelman never made it out of the second round.

I certainly don't think he is/was a bad coach.... but he wasn't particularly special.

Casey may be available right. Why should we be interested? Theres a reason for him to be fired and he should have since last year.

No, not unless he wants to leave.

He has control of the organization at this point.

I suppose it depends on how the front office and owner view him.

I don't think he is terrible, nor do I think he is anything special. He is competent but can be replaced.

Joerger has been slandered by the Grizz. That divorce was not good... they treated him poorly and he literally did everything to force them to let him go.

Stotts? That makes absolutely zero sense. The Blazers lost FOUR starters this year: LA, Matthews, Batum and Lopez. Yet they still somehow are in the second round and are one home-court win from turning this into a 3-game series against the mighty Warriors.

Stotts shouldn't be fired, he should be coach of the year.

Casey has done some very terrible mistakes. If anything these playoffs show how bad of a coach he is with how JV is playing.
He got many votes for coy. And the important thing is that he hasnt any problems with managment. Joerger had and so did Vogel.

Not that he should be fired or anything like that, but Portland benefited from enormous dropoff in the middle of the Western conference this year with several teams underachieving.

Portland finished 4 games out of the 9th seed...and 9 games out of the 4th seed.
