No one needs to believe me. I don't need validation from the BBS. No offense to anyone. Been here since 1996, and less than 1000 posts. Old school members may remember that I work in the sports travel industry. Very aware currently of JVG's thought process and where he is at. Rockets seem to be on board. Believe it or not, doesn't matter.
I'm not saying you're saying bs, other guys here are saying you're legit so yeah. But your first post and your second one seems pretty different, it would be good to understand if we're closer to the first or to the second...? Is Morey already fired or there's just a chance of this happening?

Please no. This is the worst possible time to fire Morey. We have very few assets, everyone has capspace and many have for multiple max contracts and we carry a toxic contract. And we have only two years to do something or we may lose Harden. All those require an expert gm not a coach playing the gm. I will believe it when there is someone more reliable reporting it but for now all those indications are quite worrying. And btw Morey has no reason to accept relegating to a puppet. As soon as he is fired or resigns there will be multiple teams after him. For full control.

I don't see JVG having that type of leverage considering: - how long he's been out of coaching - the current coaches on the market
This thread sucks. I love JVG, and I'd like to see him coach the Rockets, but I don't want to see him supplant Morey for Christ's sake.
I don't see JVG returning to coaching unless it's with the Rockets. He loves Houston, plain and simple. I think he'd be an excellent coach here. The only downside of that is that I think Morey is a great GM and should stay. Hopefully these two can coexist.
Firing Morey wont change the fact that Morey helped put together the squad that was supposed to win. But rather had to deal with immature and a lack of will power in James Harden and Dwight Howard. The Rockets will be in a really bad position if the guy is fired. I can understand the anger and disappointment...But this team needs a head coach with a real offensive system. Bring JVG as a GM/Coach doesnt address the fact that the Rockets need to get James Harden to buy in and become a real leader on and off the court. Firing Morey is basically the most idiotic thing to do.
Some rumors can be kept quiet. For example I have know for two months that Floyd Mayweather will fight again this year but no one has leaked it.

Morey has done some great things, and he has made some mistakes, but he has been overall solid. I would imagine JVG wants control of the type of players. But Morey has been very good with the contracts and dealing. I think there's value in keeping the roles separate. I hope we retain Morey because he is - get this - an asset.
