I thought the Pacers played to par this year with their talent, they have a decent back out but the front court isn't that special plus they have little depth, and like Harden, George has no real second option, Ellis who averaged 13.8 ppg was their 2nd highest scorer.

    Hill / Stuckey
    Ellis / Miles
    George
    Allen / Hill
    Mahinni / Turner

Is see two starting caliber players on that roster in Hill/George and then a bunch of role player bench type players.

But if Vogel isn't that great on offense, can't we just sign a offensive assistant coach? Like D'Antoni?

I am a JVG supporter, but am also excited by the prospect of Vogel. He's young and proven and hungry and has now faced some adversity with being let go by Indy, which i think makes one better. Most of all, he's an excellent defensive coach. If we are not serious about JVG i sincerely hope we move aggressively to lock this guy up. It just makes too much sense.

I have always liked Vogel. I really hope he is our next coach.

There is only one coach out there that Harden will respect and that's JVG.

Annnnd you know this how? Beard texted you last night?

And if that is even remotely true (1 coach he would respect), let's trade him while he has any value.

I thought it was Thibodeau (not JVG) who told Harden to put A1 on his steak.

And Harden followed the order. Thib was the only coach Harden respects.

The interview of coaches should have this question:

"If you were dining with Harden in an expensive restaurant and he ordered an expensive steak or burger, how would you convince him to put A1 sauce on it?"

    And that respect is mutual.

I wonder if the Rockets have to work hard to sell new coaches on this team.
Like on how hard they will work to get new players to sign that will fit the system that the coaches want to implement.

Will the coach get his assistants that he wants or he will be stuck with Chris Finch for offensive coordinator.

JVG & Vogel = nightmare defense (Vikings purple people eaters)

    Opponents 35 - 40 points . James & the gang 50 pts.
    What a boring game

I'd be surprised if Vogel even considers the Rockets job if he's not allowed to pick his own assistants. I'd be very surprised if that was the case.

Agreed. That probably goes for any established head coach that Morey pursues.

I believe the only way we don't end up with Vogel is if he decides to take a year long sabbatical a la Tommy Thibs.

I remember that it cost us R A because Morey insisted on Rick taking Chris Finch for an assistant coach.

If Morey's still dictating the terms for the coach here then Les needs to fire him
