    Interesting idea. Former Rocket point guard with a deep knowledge of the game. A champion, with the Rockets. Seven years experience as an assistant. A guy with a strong personality, which we need. Unafraid - of damn near anything, in my humble opinion.

    I hope they give him a good look.

    I don't want Kenny Smith or Sam Cassell as the Rockets next head coach.

    However Sam Cassell is a very bright basketball mind.

    I'd like to give Sam a shot, I didn't like trading him because he's a winner and a gamer. I respect JVG, but I'm not sure he's right for this team. I think Sam could be what the doctor ordered and what a story to come back where you started playing to coach.

    I think that Sam will take Beverly's game to the next level
    I think you get Sam . . .then find a Diamond in the Rough at PG

    (Not Bevs)

    Remember the Spurs did not win a championship when Avery could consistantly hit that mid range jumper

    None of our PGs can do that
    So sick of watching Bevs get into the lane and either launch a long pass that is picked off. . . or him looking to scramble back out .

    Sam's going to be a helluva coach somewhere and it feels right.

    On the other hand, when JVG left, I was more than ready for an Exit Stage Left. Now, I'm thinking he might very well be the ANSWER.

    Probably can't go wrong with either.

    Assistant under Flip and Doc, two really respected guys with tons of experience. Sam would also help in recruiting because damn near everyone respects the hell outta him.

    If you're going former Rocket Champ, Sam makes much more sense than Kenny Smith.
