Sounds strange but I read an article long time ago and this works for me: In addition to regular routine, I use Head & Shoulders shampoo as a body scrub/wash as well. Cheers!
Stay away from antibiotics and pills. My facial acne cleared up big time with a better diet, still have chest and shoulder acne though I can live with it. Tea tree is a great way to dry a pimple out, exfoliating is good of course, wash regularly after you sweat/workout. But overall it's just backne bro, as long as it's not rampant in your face your good, some poor souls are dealing with horrible face acne. Man that **** really messed up my self esteem in middle/high school.
Cleaning all effected areas with facial scrub is what worked for me back in my teens. Look into Acure Organics products. Available at Vitamin Shoppe and Amazon.
Exfoliate and/or wipe with Clindamycin Phosphate pledget (prescription). If that doesn't work try a body wash with benzoyl peroxide in it. If that doesn't work it's a sulphur based wash you'd want to test.
Second this. Changing to antibacterial soap helped me a ton. I use Dial bodywash now and haven't had problems since.
The two most common active ingredients in acne body washes are Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid. If one doesn't work, try the other. As a warning, Benzoyl Peroxide can sometimes bleach towels, clothing, and/or sheets so you may want to be careful when you first start using it. Use white towels, shirts, etc. I never had problems but other people do for some reason.
They sell really good products. When I was younger I had mild issues (mild but they persisted for way too long) with it and this cleared it up quickly. Their Benzyl Peroxide treatment gel is the best on the market and isn't too expensive. Also check out their AHA cream, they market it as extra helpful for body acne. They have a very effective daily regimen that I would recommend following; it was the only thing that cleared me up besides age. I still use their stuff and haven't had a pimple in a very long time. Other things that helped me: Change sheets and pillowcases frequently, daily if possible. Someone mentioned the beach... its true. I think its the combination of the UV rays from the sun killing bacteria in your skin, the saltwater and exfoliation from the sand. My skin always looked great 4-5 days later. Shower as soon as possible after sweating. You don't want oil, sweat and dirt sitting on your skin for too long. Change detergents if you have sensitive skin. Moving. I swear different water sources would agitate my skin. I had mild skin problems then moved to a different area with different water and it really helped. Lower your stress. Stress always gave me breakouts. Asprin. Make an aspirin paste by dissolving two cheap (uncoated if possible) aspirin tablets in about a tablespoon of water. The aspirin partially dissolves into a kind of grainy paste. Rub it on where you have issue. It acts as a cheapo and easy topical anti-inflammatory paste. Really helped me when I had a breakout or something, it knocks down swelling almost immediately. Hope it clears up for you man, I know it can be frustrating and embarrassing at times. Again check out acne.org, its pretty solid. It helped me a ton.
This really isn't true. I know you like to post about your organic hippy vegan bull**** but "antibiotics and pills" have helped tons of people. Yes accutane has some serious side effects but for many people its the ONLY thing that works. OP needs to talk to a Dermatologist if at home stuff doesn't work.
Laying in the sun helps clear that stuff up. Feels better, too. However, I am lucky to not have much of an issue with acne except for the occasional back pimple sometimes. My gf loves popping them. She is obsessed with Dr. Pimple Popper, whatever that is.
Most derms will prescribe antibiotics to solve the problem presented to them without covering the other problems long-term use will cause, like gut problems. Doctors (not derms) seem to think it's a bad call, generally. But it definitely can work. But it will never be a long term solution.
Drink a lot of water. 6-8 bottles a day. Don't even have any other drinks. (Soda, juice, alcohol, coffee etc)
I feel like this is being overlooked, especially if you sweat a lot during the day from heat or stress/anxiety at work or school. In addition to changing shirts, take a quick body shower in between.
Some acne is just your body producing lots of oil and nothing can be done except taking medication which causes your body to produce less oils. That was my case. No matter how much cream you use, no matter how many times you wash your face or use the OTC acne products, nothing will change. Find out what kind of acne you have and go from there. I saw a derm for my face because nothing was working. He prescribed a few meds that helped with the oily face and it went away within a few months. Wish I would've done it sooner cause now I have scars.
Not everyone with "I need a dermatologist" level acne needs antibiotics long term and dermatologists usually stop antibiotics after 6 months or so. They are also real doctors who went to medical school and as doctors should not be ignoring the harmful side effects of an antibiotic on the rest of your body. I know they are not ideal but antibiotics along with "pills" should not be counted out as effective treatments.
Really, you're going to call me "organic hippy bull ****", and then post the exact reason why taking antibiotics for BACK and ARM acne, isn't cool? What does the side effects have to do with my diet? What part about eating healthy is bull ****? Why are your bringing up my diet, calling me a hippy have to do with the issue of side effects from acne pills and long term antibiotic use? I had horrible acne, I felt like ****, had zero self esteem and was bullied for years because of how bad my acne was. I was prescribed acutane by a jackass dermatologist who litetally told me the only side effect the pills would have is "making your acne go away and nothing else". He didn't tell me about liver issues, digestive system problems and the effect on my immune system, I had to find that out for myself. But excuse me for recommending someone stay away from antibiotics and acne pills. I obviously dont have rights to an opinion because I'm clearly just being a vegan fagget, please shame me and be a dick more because of my bull **** hippy diet.
