I know a lot of people are always interested in this . I just ordered league pass for the season.

Regarding NBA TV, which the NBA seperated out of the league pass package midway through last season (resulting in Time Warner also taking it away) will be included with this years package. Unfortunately, though, it will not be included immediately. So, if you orderright now, you won't get the NBA TV channel in time for the Asian Championships this week. The channel should start working around the time the season starts. Also, FYI, league pass does not include many, if any, preseason games.

    Hope the info is useful.

Why'd ya order right now? Is there a special going on? I've heard a $20 off special for Comcast (or maybe it's InDemand) that "brings it down" to $159, but I got it for $139 last year, so I'm holding out to see if they drop the price.

And of course unlucky for us Comcast people, we can't get NBA TV... arrrgggg. God, I hate the NBA sometimes.

I ordered League Pass last week and it was $159, I asked about the early bird special and they said that it will be $179 after the early bird special.

Atleast NBA TV will be included this year. I live in Austin, so hopefully it still applies.

On DirecTV, the broadcast is generally (but not always) that of the visiting team...except for some reason they seem to short change Calvin and Bill when the Rox on on the road. :(

NBA TV runs year round on satellite whether you have NBALP or not. It's CH 601.

How can we be sure they won't change the plan in the middle of the year again????

GATER - I think Tim explained last year that the broadcast preference is based on regional coverage. A team with regional coverage (i.e., they're on Fox Sports Net) will have their broadcasters shown over those teams with only local coverage (like the Rockets and their deal with a local Channel 51).

I forget what happens when both teams have local coverage - I think the home team then gets the broadcasting duties.

And what happens when both have regional... I think the home team again wins out.

Sorry I'm so fuzzy... but the real reason deals with regional coverage have a preference, not the home/away thing.

    Rocket104-
I do recall Tim's post but I forgot the logic/specifics so you may have it right. Living in Austin, CH 51 has no frame of reference for me. Except that I am positive (from BBS comments) that ya'all in Houston got Calvin and Bill when I got the opponents announcers (regardless of H or A).

Last year the contract between 51 and the Rockets was closed so late, or close to opening of the season that 51 did not get the paperwork filed with league pass in time to have it as an approved channel to be on league pass. Should not be problem this year.

Also to anyone that has a C band dish, last year 51 did not scamble the signal. That is the only way I got to see Calvin and Bill.

    Gucci,

In Austin NBA TV is NOT included, you have to order it seperate.

It costs an additional $2 a month.

Read the thread that D.o.D posted...it explains the whole thing.

    Oct 1st channel 435, I think.
