I don't know if I would say GSW don't have one. Bogut is a damn good defender of the rim in my opinion. He blocked the hell out of the Rockets and had a sick block today as well.
They have two with Ezeli, but that infamous lineup of hell or whatever does not have one. Furthermore, rim protectors don't seem effective against it.
Batum looks pretty locked in to returning to charlotte..says that's been the first time he's played like he wanted to, since coming to the NBA. Charlotte is making him their #1 FA priority.
Definitely optimistic, but not unlikely. They were seeking for a starter and a 1st rounder from Utah and Knicks at the trade deadline, but didn't get any good offers. He is now effectively an expiring contract due for a raise. Teams are becoming smarter in valuing draft picks. I do think he deserves a mid first round pick for a year's rental, but the Hawks seem quite motivated to trade him before they lose him for nothing.
I never thought we would be able to get Lawson so cheaply, of course the 2nd DUI pushed that. Of course, some people would say this first round pick was expensive. At the time i thought Lawson the bball player was worth a lot more than a non-lottery pick. Now I'm pretty much questioning if I know anything about bball with how Lawson turned out. But I digress. Point is I could be way off. If I was the Atlanta GM, I would not be happy getting Ariza. If I was Morey, I would jump on it.
I like Dud, Anderson, and especially Batum. Nice list OP. My gut tells me Whiteside is going to regress after getting paid. Need shooters is right. Is it time for AB0 part 3 yet?
I say go after Horford,Noah, and Bazemore. trade or draft a cheap PG that would be a fit, and get morey to find shooters.
Whiteside is an elite pick n roll offensive option in the league, probably ranks only behind Deandre in terms of efficiency. But if we couldn't acquire him, a stretch four with Capela is not a bad option at all.
Damn I wish we could have gotten Aldridge last off season, what an amazing player, he's playing like 2011 Dirk in the last 2 games.
Is Cole Aldrich for real now? Back up 5? His Per 36 is great...i know it doesn't always transfer, especially since he avg 13 mins per game, but it looks like he put up good numbers, when he did get extended minutes. And he's not a bad free shooter, always a bonus on this team.. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Uyl5kvKuBG4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Aldrich turned the corner the second half of the 13-14 season. He's been a quality player on both ends ever since. And he's still flying under the radar. He's a high quality back up center. Good paint/rim defender, good pick and roller, good banging post moves, and a good free throw shooter. Whomever signs him for 3/10 or less is getting a bargain. I'd offer him the full room mle and dance a jig if he agreed to it.
If we want to go cheap at center I'd sign three guys. Give Aldrich 3, B.iyombi 2-3, and Larry Sanders a minimum salary deal. That's 3 guys that can defend and board for about 7 million of cap space.
If we are leaving the obvious big names off the list some names I would absolutely love to target are Favorite (dark horse) 3 players Marvin Williams. Jared Dudley. Jerryd Bayless. Some other names I would be OK with depending on contract. Teletovic Deng Fournier E.Gordon Ry.Anderson
Rumors and speculations are now swirling with the Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conley, who is said to leave his current team to join the Houston Rockets next season. Mike Conley failed to play in the playoffs due to Achilles injury resulting for the Memphis Grizzlies to be easily beaten by the San Antonio Spurs. According to a report from Inquisitr, the Grizzlies tried to re-sign Conley, but he declined the offer and decided to become a free agent in the upcoming off-season. There will surely be many suitors waiting to sign the Grizzlies star since most of the teams are targeting a quality point guard, including the Houston Rockets. The Rockets became the center of controversies after the disappointing loss to the Golden State Warriors in the round one of the Western Conference playoff series. The Warriors established to defeat the Rockets even without the reigning MVP, Stephen Curry, on their side. Like us on Facebook Based on a previous report, there will be a big chance that James Harden and Dwight Howard will be separating ways next season. If Howard plans to opt out, the Rockets will release a huge salary cap to sign other players that can help Harden lead the team. James Harden’s scoring performance in the current season was undeniably outstanding so many became surprise that the Rockets have not even managed to defeat the Curry-less Warriors in their series. Many believe that the team should hire more player that could bring a good chemistry with Harden. Mike Conley can be a great addition to the Rockets struggling lineup. He was known to be a consistent player in his nine years of playing with the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite the Grizzlies slow paced offense, Conley managed to get an average of 15.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 2.9 rebounds. Conley’s unselfishness in the court can be a huge advantage for Harden since he used to be the main focus of the Rockets’ offense. Also, Conley can take over the ball handling duties together with Patrick Beverley so Harden can always find a good spot to execute perfect offensive strategy for the Rockets. http://www.sportsrageous.com/nba/nba-rumors-mike-conley-to-team-up-with-james-harden-in-houston-rockets-next-season/19993/
we need a PG.....But I don't like conley. Hes very good don't get me wrong but I think hes about to decline hard like Dwight did.
I like Conley but he's too rich for my taste for what you get. I'd much rather have Jeff Teague. Also would get better value from either Brandon Knight or Eric Bledsoe (injury risk and all) dude can flat out ball.
