I understand about the UBB software being in common use, but the Forums are split along similar lines. It definitely came after the CC BBS, so it will tend to get stuck with the clone tag. Seems like there are several NBA BBS sites using UBB: A Pacer Board A Griz Board A Spurs Board? and now this Mav BBS There are probably a few more that I haven't visited yet that use UBB. I can't really say which NBA Fan BBS (using UBB) was first, but CC sure isn't the latest one to use it Mango ------------------ Get it right or just don't do it! I can guarantee that the Mavtalk board was created without prior knowledge of this one. This one was discovered by the Mavs 2 months after the fact. I must say that I do like this one though - very impressive for just fan contributions... The Mavs were just sick of their NBA site looking like crap, with no control over their own content. ------------------

Actually dc rock, I think many members of this BBS do the exact same thing when fans from other teams come here. The excuse for lack of civility is often "What do you expect? This is a Rockets fan site," which is true enough, to an extent. There are too many people here who just look to jump on posters from other teams, even when those posters are trying to be civil. ------------------
I agree that the guy that stooped to Rocketfan's level on our board was just as big an idiot as Rocketfan himself. But most of us aren't like that. In fact, if you looked at the replies most of us (Mavs fans) repremanded him for acting like such a loser. Ya'll have a very good team as well as us and I wish you luck. You have to understand the average Dallas fan. They haven't cheered for the Mavs in oh... a couple of decades almost because they've been a losing team for so long. Now with America's Crackwagon aka, the Dallas Cowboys, on the decline, the Dallas fans have to jump on another bandwagon. mrpaige, This BBS keeps having more Forums cleaved off as demand warrants. It is possible that the Mavs BBs was done/setup without viewing the prior art of other sites such as CC, but doubtful in my eyes. Question for you mrpaige: Do you believe the claim that they choose UBB and setup the Mav BBS without looking at the work of others on the 'Net such as CC? I don't particularly care. Hey now, it's only been ONE decade. We haven't sucked THAT long. About bandwagoners, every Dallas team has a strong core of dedicated fans that has been with them from the start. Even though the Mavs didn't have good attendance through a lot of the 90s, they still had a lot of fans. They were just afraid to show themselves in public. However, I gotta admit there many, many bandwagoners in Dallas, probably more than most cities. vj and Dr, I think most of the people on the Mavs board (at least the intelligent ones) respect the Rockets because they are such a young, explosive, and dangerous team. However, when making a point, it is convinient to point out the fact that we beat you once and ignore the two losses. Also, if you are making this judgement by the responses to RocketsFan posts, then I think they were just flaming him back by saying anything bad about the Rockets even if they knew it were false. I'm sure many of you would have said the Mavs suck if some idiot came on here saying bad things about the Rockets. Personally, I think the Rockets are good and hope that they can beat out Minn or Phoenix for the 8th spot. I'm really looking forward to our final game against each other this year (assuming we don't meet in the playoffs ). ------------------
