I was reading over the list of active NBA players a few days ago, and came across the name Peter Cornell, a foward who graduated from Loyola Maramount in 1998, and who has apparently signed a contract with the Rockets, at least through training camp.

If anybody has information on this guy, spill it here. I didn't see him listed as one of the 5 guys the Rockets signed for training camp.

Here's the link that sparked my interest:

    Thanks JayZ50.

Codell, I'd carry luggage for the league minimum!

Codell, if Cornell would have stayed in Soundgarden, the whole f'ing grunge thing would have stayed around too long. Would you like to see plaid, flannel Rockets uniforms? F-dat!

I was doing some research on Rockets salarys and found some interesting information:
Mr. Cornell will be making $ 366.931 for the 2003-2004 season.
Does this mean he has already made the team this year ?

He was on the Lakers Roster back in 2000 or 2001 but I doubt he ever played.

Most likely he did not get a guaranteed contract, as many of these tackling dummies don't.

    From Rockets.com:

    Rockets Sign Rucker, Sanders

HOUSTON (Sept. 29, 2003) - The Houston Rockets have signed forward/center Guy Rucker and guard Melvin Sanders, general manager Carroll Dawson announced today. They will participate in Rockets training camp, which begins on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

    Rucker
Rucker, (6-9, 270 pounds), played three games last season with the Golden State Warriors. He grabbed one rebound and dished out one assist in four minutes of play. Rucker played three seasons at Iowa, and professionally in Europe.

Sanders, (6-5, 210 pounds), played at Oklahoma State last season and averaged 12.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 32 games.

    ----------------

My inside sources say that Rucker is expected to compete with both EG and Mo and that Sanders has the inside track for one of the starting guard spots.

codell : since you are now the Inside Source for information please enlighten us who will make the team for the 2003-2004 season. Does Gabe have a chance? I was thinking that only Gabe & Wilks make the final roster spots.
    THANKS

    Ummmm .....errrr .........

From what I have heard, JVG will insist that we pass the ball on offense at least 3 times before taking a shot. If a player won't do it this way, then they will sit, even if it means going with only 4 players on the court.

Look for us to go with the "picket fence" as our bread and butter play when inbounding the ball.

Also, apparently EG and Pete Cornell were kicked out of practice yesterday for smarting off to JVG. Later on, Cornell's father brought Pete back to practice and begged JVG to let him back on the team.

Finally, JVG may be adding yet another assistant coach. Word is though, that the unknown assistant has a drinking problem and has a penchant for embarassing antics at the game. He is currently on Step 9 and hopes to join the team later in the season.

    Thats all for now.

This is really going to upset Chance:

Peter Cornell will be wearing #50. Guess there will be no jersey retirement.

    What an insult to Bull.

    :(
