Do you shred credit card applications (mail)? What else do you shred?

    I just read online I should be shredding those. Uh oh. I've been throwing them away for a while. Hopefully nobody tries to do anything. Nervous right now.

    I don't personally and I get about 10 a weeks it seems. I don't need them either, because I stay in the chase ultimate rewards umbrella.

    The only problem with that is you can actually get special offers in the mail. I just got a chase airline card with a 50,000 bonus. Where they only have 30,000 if you go their site.

    Shred everything that has your name and address on it, junk mail or not.

    Also, use a crosscut shredder.

    Address and name is easily available anywhere..

    I shred anything that has more than my name/add/phone on it.

    I always destroy anything like that which comes in my name.

    I throw away my ex-wife's junk mail unopened. :grin:

    I don't really get CC applications anymore...it's rare that I do. This has been the case for the past 3-4 years. Don't remember what I did to stop the applications. I do get the occasional insurance application though and yes I do shred those, along with anything else that has more than my name and address.
