Means a lot coming from a champion. This is why a team led by Harden will never truly contend for a championship.
Leadership isn't just confined to the locker room. Believe it or not, you have to lead on the floor as well.
It's very simple... poor defensive effort = poor leadership PERIOD I tend to agree with this, but let's see what a real coach can do.
I voted yes just because these threads are becoming ridiculous. "Charles dropping knowledge" and now "Shaq dropping knowledge"...what shouls i expect next? "SAS dropping knowledge"? Lol, the season is over, give me a break.
The defense is a huge part, agreed, but so is body language and the way you interact with teammates on the floor. Harden has a weird way of looking disengaged and glaring at his teammates. I still think he can be a great #2. Remains to be seen if we can get a #1. Not necessarily a player more talented than him, but a skilled player with an alpha-dog personality. (.... and a strong coach. That should be taken for granted by now.)
Ever since Dwert signed on with the same agent as Shaq, his attitude towards D12 has completely changed. Shaq even referred to Dwight as "Superman" the other day during the halftime show. I cynically suspect that this is just an attempt to try and raise Dwight's free-agency value by placing the blame for the Rocket's trainwreck of a season on Harden.
Shaq may not be in the same locker room with the rox. But, i bet you he knows more people in and around NBA more than anyone of us. Harden is like Kobe without the rings.
Yeah Shaq, the guy who was known for his "defense" calling out Harden? Oh Shaq never showed up to start the season out of shape! Oh wait.
Haven't watched the clip yet, but responding to the thread poll, I'm a resounding no. Harden is a terrible leader. He came into camp fat and unfocused. He plays no defense. He's careless with the ball. And he resorts far too often to ISO ball. I'm not saying he's not a great offensive player because he certainly is. And he's not a bad guy by any means. But a leader leads by example. And the example Harden set this season was a poor one.
This. He's probably right but he's not an objective source. Bash, bash, bash Dwight all these years. Oh, he signed with my former agent & we talked things over; we're cool now. Target now on Harden. Terrible leader Terrible teammate Not fun to play with [In the words of Mike Singletary] Cannot play with him, cannot win with him, cannot coach with him, can't do it.
nope but he's not to blame for this season. his team sucks, look at them in the playoffs. two straight seasons he carried his team. he needs some ****in help already.
Don't quite agree that Harden has no leadership skills. But do agree very strongly that Harden was a terrible leader this season. And the short video clip does not do justice to how poor a leader he was this year. You'd have to run about 90 minutes of vid to see just how poor a leader Harden was this season.
