LOL and if that's what he wants, that's what he'd get. Again, tell me all those teams that you think are better fits for him. As to your earlier comment, YOU might not think Harden is a good teammate, but Durant did when they were teammates so.....
No one can speak for Durant, so all this "He doesn't want this, he doesn't want that." is irrelevant conversation. If he wants what you say he wants then he'll join the Warriors or Spurs. If he has a bit of an ego he'll consider teams like Boston or the Rockets. He may just want to go Hollywood and join the Lakers. Or he may want to retire a thunder. I think the point some of us are making is it's kind of just being unnecessarily pessimistic to go "It won't happen." based on what exactly? No one knows what Durant wants and you know what I doubt he knows at this point in time as well.
Read his comments about Gregg Popovich. He talks about what makes players successful. He made these comments before game 1.
And this too, while some people think Harden is a garbage teammate Durant probably doesn't. We know Durant called Dwight a "P___y" so it may be that Durant blames this more on Dwight than Harden. Going into the mind of an elite player he'd think "Well, none of that happens if I'm there." Look at Lebron. He joined two unproven stars because he thought once they add him then that's all they need. Someone earlier mentioned it but I think fans over think this. I doubt Durant will be looking at "Well, I don't know. Do they still have Brewer? I can't join that team." If he joins the Rockets it will be because he thinks Him + Harden + Horford/Conley can win and at that point it doesn't matter if he's wrong or right, time will tell on that it just matters if he believes that. It's on the Rockets brass to sell that to him.
So just come out and say that you think there's no way he'll go to the Rockets because he's going to ride the Spurs coattails.
He's complimented the Rockets FO on how they are always aggressive and trying to win as well. He also said he likes Boston the city and how that team is built. All of these places are going to make a case to Durant and each will have their pros and cons. I just think the Rockets are in this thing until Durant, Durant himself says "I just want to win at all cost. I'll take a smaller role to do so, I don't care." or something similar.
Could be the Spurs. Could be the Warriors. Heck could be Boston with their great coach. Definitely not the Rockets where we will get leftovers from the available coaches. Leftovers who will likely have no track record of success. Def not appealing to Durant based off his recent comments. Im not being pessimstic for no reason. I just see no reasons why to be optimistic given what Durant has said.
LOL, I know you aren't pessimistic for no reason, you're pessimistic because you are upset over how the Rockets season turned out and you are letting that emotion cloud your judgement. It's okay, I think it'll pass eventually and you'll come around but what you just said is not logical at all. The Rockets have every bit as much chance as the Celtics.
Oh, we didn't get Luke Walton or Brooks and now it's time to start worrying about if there are good coaches out there? You do sound like you are just being pessimistic and that no matter what the Rockets will just suck next year too.
No it's not. Not sure why anyone would want to do that with Harden on the team. That's a total crap shoot and you can be in that position for the next 5, 10, 15 years.
He probably wants the team to trade Harden and everyone else, have Les sell the team, have the team move to another city and get the top draft pick for 5 or 6 years. There's just no telling the kind of crazy thoughts that happen when people are blinded by grief and emotion.
depends on how this series goes...i think houston has a decent shot at him...most likely durant signs for a 1 yr with OKC and then decides
Sorry but let me ask you this (and don't take it personal), are you here to cheer the Rockets or to just make fun out of other people just cause they hope to see their team gettin better? I just don't get this mentality, seems to talk with 10 years old kids... Aside the fact that with Harden on the team you cannot rebuild, but how do you think we can do that with Les? No chance. I can understand the idea of trade Harden and rebuild in the future, if we're going to miss on big names, but right now just doesn't make sense.
You know some people may think you are over exaggerating and I'm not saying that Outlier is that guy... But man I've known so many Texan fans that say similar stuff in their best Eeyore voice "Would rather not have a team."
